I don't listen to the radio either. I just managed to channel surf and the remix came on the digital cable station for hip hop.

I guess she thought that would be a good topic for a song. And I gotta say it was for the most part because she does come off crazy in it. That hook was in my head for a little bit. I would just randomly say it.

No, I hadn't heard that song before and it's not awful because nothing that makes me laugh like that can be considered as such. Also, any poor, misguided woman who gets relationship advice from a song needs to get hurt.

Don't a lot of rap artists produce music for these exact reasons?  I mean, they are getting paid, right?

I don't feel like engaging in a discussion about the motives of artists in our day and age, because to a certain degree it's conjecture (I don't know why they do half the **bleep!** that they do), but I'm sure there are a fair amount of artists out there who make music because they love to make music.

I appreciate your civility.  Especially considering that a lot of this is subjective.

I stopped caring about sneakers years ago for the most part because they a.cost to much, b.take away money from something that I can buy that will have more value & c.I'm cheapskate.

Spacadetz-I didn't even Evidence released an EP this year. You haven't made anymore threads messing with people about how you buy shoes and don't wear them heh?

I generally don't care about shoes that much either, but for some reason I've just been buying a lot of them lately. I almost wasted madd Christmas gift money on some black Supras (which I'll now probably buy anyway).

Im actually selling a pair for 260 right now :smileyhappy:
yeah cop that evidence its dope.

Idk if this has been posted but oh well.

Dr. Dre, Eminem, Others Used As Torture Music
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that declassified Army files approved soldiers to use various forms of popular music as torture devices for known terrorism suspects. The files approve "yelling, loud music, light control: used to create fear, disorient detainee and prolong capture shock." Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez, who served as U.S. military commander in Iraq, authorized the torture technique in September of 2003.

Binyam Mohammed who was held at the "Dark Prison" in Kabul, Afghanistan says U.S. forces bombarded him with repeated listens of Dr. Dre, Eminem, Nine Inch Nails and Metallica, which left inmates screaming and smashing their heads against prison cell walls.

"There was loud music, [Eminem's] 'Slim Shady' [click to read] and Dr. Dre for 20 days. I heard this nonstop over and over," says Mohammed. "The CIA worked on people, including me, day and night for the months before I left. Plenty lost their minds."

While few are sympathetic to the plights of alleged terrorists, despite the fact that many of the practices violate Geneva Conventions, some of the artists whose songs were used are quite upset.

Tom Morello, whose work with Rage Against the Machine was also used, has joined with a group of other musicians to protest the use of their music as a weapon.

"I suggest that they level Guantanamo Bay, but they keep one small cell and they put Bush in there...and they blast some Rage Against the Machine," Morello said.

yes, i think a lot of rappers do what they do for money, i can't blame them for that but it's like you say there's others out there that do it because they love the music and those are the ones that i'm usually drawn to. i guess i wish that the guys doin it for the love got more money and recognition than they do instead of being overlooked for some of the radio $h*t out there but if that's what people like then i guess that's how it's gonna be.

you're right, this is pretty subjective. next topic.....

I didn't realize Obama had any noticeable affect on hip hop.  Probably because he didn't, and I'm happy.  Don't stop the gun talk because America went to **bleep!** and elected a **bleep!**.
