You'll get another chance.

Its either Family Guy or Futurama.

You'll see a bump that refers to the submissions and then it will say that "this is one of them"

You missed it last night?

hello [as] fam again,
this is the first time i've logged into the boards (formerly McGuirkTHEjerk) since the boards got updated oh so long ago.

i thought my first post would be in a Viewer Music Project thread.

as soon as i heard about the Bump project,  i sent [as] around 9 or 10 brain-melting bumps that i had created under the name CONTRA.
anyway, i hope you guys like them... because i had fun creating them.

Dear goku4u,

Wow.

Not all music involves making "beats." The issue in both of my previous posts has nothing to do with "beats." Some people write down their music using dots on this funny paper with lines on it, so that others can perform it. This does not just apply to the drums. Accordians, violins, and band-saws can all be pla ... own and am sole possessor of these recordings. Can they still be submitted?

everyone else, please ignore this post and go about your day without a care in the world, knowing one day you and everyone you love is going to die.

Hmm, well, if you're that worried about it, get them to sign some contracts then. I personally have better ways to waste my time.

It's gotta be all you. If you had other people contribute to your music, you must have a signed document by said individuals permitting your right of use and waivering creative control to you and you alone. Now, obviously we can't know for certain whether or not you have that, but keep in mind that by signing our legal agreement, you take full responsibility and liability for what you submit. So for instance, if a person other than yourself provided vocals or an instrumental beat for one of your tracks found out they're creative content made it to broadcast and they never gave permission for that, you'd be held accountable for any fines or lawsuits should that person demand compensation or whatever.

Actually, there were three submissions that made it to air. In fact, each of them will replay through this Thursday, so you can catch them at your leisure. We won't have the streaming versions on the website until next Monday, but just so ya'll know...

Viewer Card - Lumps : "Female Heroine" by Rondo Brothers
Viewer Music Update : "Artificia / Tamarind Flavored Soft Candy" by Neil Champagne
[AS] Transit : "Untitled" by Weja

Also, I should inform everyone of two points of interest. One, when the streaming versions of these bumps go online, we're going to attach your email address to your name (or artist name) in the bump's description. This is just so folks can contact you if they liked your tunes. If however you don't want us tacking on your email address, just let me know (I'll be sending out an email to anyone who's music is going to be on air... I hope... this is a lot of work for one dude). Second, because of the way our website is setup, streaming versions of bumps with viewer music won't be available on the website until the second Monday after they air (meaning when the bumps air on Sunday, you'll have to wait 8 days before you can catch it on our site).

Again, thanks to everyone who's submitted music. We're getting a lot of good stuff in.

Sweet, so when they are on the site for streaming, is the whole bump streamed..or just the music?

Also when they are put up on the site, is the persons asmb s/n attached to it as well or just their e-mail? Cause I think that would be cool if their asmb name was there.

Thanks for the informative reply. Hope you get some help with all of this. I think AS might have underestimated their music enthusiast fans and the ease of access to music making software.

People might have access to it..but you have to have an instrumental mind in order for it to work.

Just like some people out there couldn't drum if their life depended on it.

I think it has something to do with a constant time-click in your brain..which helps keep you on beat. Some have it more than others.

Whole bump.

No ASMB usernames though. Not a bad idea, but that info was ommitted from the agreement, so we'd have no way of knowing who's who, and if we wanted to... well that's just more work for me and I've got enough to deal with already. Sorry.

Myself as well as the rest of the bump crew felt that we'd more or less exhausted the Turner Music Library of decent tunes. So last July I proposed the idea of viewer music submissions. Lazzo seemed fine with it, so I started talks with Legal and Online as to the logistics of the project. 6 months later, we roled it out.

However, it wasn't just about the music, though that was a large element to the project's purpose. I'd been a board member and avid viewer since I was in college, and I really liked the community that developed around the block. I felt like interacting with the fans on a level so universally appreciated as music could add to that sense of community. Whether or not that'll happen remains to be seen since the project is in its infancy, but I've got high hopes for its direction.

Well, cool it sounds like you have the perfect job.     Lucky.

and what else could happen with this project, I mean you said you had high hopes,  so does that mean that there could be some other plans revolving around this in the future? like an all viewer bump music night...or something to that extent?
