Right on.

I'm already getting Reason for free (*sshhhh).

So, all I have left to get is a MIDI controller.

oh, and just to help me out.......when shopping for one, should I simply ask for a "MIDI controller"  .....probably a dumb question

I like.  Midnight Blue's got flavor.

Yeah, just ask for a MIDI controller, they will know what you mean.

and if they question that just tell them its being used for a Computer program called reason, to make music..that should do it.

Ok, I'll white on all of them individually

The first one What Aliens Would Listen To - I loved the beginning..it starts out powerful and has mass potential..but once it goes into the next part..it lost that feeling. But overall its a pretty sick beat..just needs some kind of melody..or chord structure in it.

The second One Symphony- This ones ok, but Im not feeling it. has an alright beat, but is a little too repetitive.

The third One Smoke- The beginning is pretty cherry, starts out powerful and it kinda just stays the same..but overall I think parts of it could be bumpworhty.

The fourth Midnight Blue- I like it, smooth, nice mellow beat. Flows quite well.  Nice layout of sounds.

The fifth liftoff- is not bad, good strong beat. Needs some melody though, solid drum beats and a sweet melody would make this one a real hit

so overall you can have some potential to make some serious stuff, so good work. Keep it up.

What happens is if they choose one of your beats, they will e-mail you so you can be sure to watch or record, then they will place your name and song title(?) on this page http://www.adultswim.com/williams/bump_music/index.html

so you dont have to watch..cause they should get ahold of you to let you know whats going on.

sorry for the annoying computer voice in there, but i'm a bit paranoid and i just want to make sure nobody steals my beat.. because if they did i'd have to hunt them down and cut off their **bleep**ing face. :smileyhappy:

What if a track is co-produced and sent in by one of the parties with permission?

I like it, its almost a retro style with the organ then it comes in with a solid beat, great work!

and the robot voice is a good idea...I might start doing that with my songs. it almost fit too.:smileyvery-happy:

WOW! Ive listened to some of the submmitted  tracked.

Some of you are very talented and others could use some work, but have potential.

Good songs. Some GOOD, some OK, and some that are sorry.

Need Help?

1. Use some bass to track (not too much, just a LITTLE)

2. Use catchy beat (instrumental, jazzy, hip hop, classical, or whatever your style)

3. DO NOT make the song sound repetitive

4. Come up with DIFFERENT beats (dont just change it up)

5. Just be original with your musis making. (It may not be for everyone, but just remember that its really YOUR music that you're making and thats all that matters)

I agree with everything you just said. But this one could be both true and false.

Mostly all techno songs have a standard beat, they are all basically the same, and it stays throughout the entire song. Same goes with a lot of rap.

so as long as the beat is good, its ok to repeat it.

what matters is how the melody and chorus change..otherwise..yeah, it would sound very repetitive.

I don't do techno but I do do guitar. I wonder if anyone will/has sent in anything that could be used in that genre of music.

There was some money a$$ bump music in the new year's resolutions bump...it started off with a list of 6 resolutions..then brok, and came back with a stron beat showing the list of resolutions that you'll keep (none).

Where can I find out who did that track you sampled, and where can I find the whole track?

Please let me know..it's been stuck in my head for the past couple...

See, I've been down on that wrong thread. This is where all the talk is...

God Almighty, AssProd, do you regret even *doing* the contest with all these questions? I'm curious as the next bloke about what you've gotten and what you like, but you'd think we'd be patient enough to wait. When do you suppose you'll start showing them? In other words, what do you consitute as a reasonable stock?

Of course I regret it! It was easy livin' up until two weeks ago when everyone and their mothers began sending in music and asking overly specific questions about legality and beat preferences! I could have just gone across the street and waded through the crap music from our Library, but instead I get to sit in my office and open package after package after package, and listen to music over and over and over while the only remaining gleam of hope that was once in my heart slowly fades into oblivion to die a lonely, meaningless death. Do I regret it?!?! DO I REGRET IT?!?! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

But seriously, I don't know. Might use one as early as this Sunday, but I can't say for sure.

Do you think listening to that much music is making you insane?

I know it would drive me crazy..especially if they wern't so good.

and If I listened to them all In a row..I would probably be so sick of music that everything would seem bad.

I also know somebody who uses FL, and he makes some tight rap beats.

so, sweet, get your self a MIDI controller and you should be good to go.:smileyhappy:
