GITS 2 - Innocence DVD (problem???)

ok so a couple of months ago i went on a bit of an anime shopping spree and bought various anime movies and series' that i have watched on tv or online in the past that i wanted to own.

Well when i came to buy Innocence, i started reading that there was some sort of problem with the DVD's like a subittle problem or the dub voices were off or too deep.

are any of these true? I heard the manufacturer in America did a crap job and ruiend the DVD to the point where people said it almsot wasn't watchable.

can anyone verify this?

I really want to watch this movie again, but i want to be sure there is a normal copy out there somewhere.

BTW i want to watch this in the English dub, instead of **noel** dub with subtitles

I have both versions and don't have any problems with either of them. The dub is awesome, btw...

The original release of the movie (from Sony, I think) was subtitle-only, so that may be what you heard. It was later reissued with a dub by the same actors from the TV series.

There are actually two dubs on Innocence. The European and American dubs. The difference between them? The European dub is deeper. All the characters have deeper voices, despite having the exact same actors and dialogue as the American dub.

Richard Epcar (Batou himself) was the ADV director for the localization of that movie, and even he says that it's just an absolute mess.

There are 4 Vocal tracks included on the DVD. You can access both European and American dubs on the DVD...

But then again, i bought the special edition that came with the movie's soundtrack.. though I don't think that makes any difference in what features were included on the movie itself.
