One of my favorite recording artists made an album full of remixes of anime music.

And among them, is this track: Stand Alone Complex.

I like the track Paranoia Iron too which is from Paranoia Agent.

Oh, he also did a track from the original Ghost in the Shell movie. It's pretty cool.

I certainly can't deny that the remixes aren't all that bad. I wish the rapping lyrics in Stand Alone flowed a little better, but it wasn't horrible.

I do have to question how he's able to get away with selling all these copyrighted samples though, but a lot of rap music is like that anyway, so....

Well ATD is a big anime fan. He attributes his whole persona to the movie Akira. So I'm sure that this works as a tribute of sorts. Nothing to really get upset over.

Except for copyright laws and illegal use of copyrighted materials for his own financial gain...

I mean, the album does say it's celebrating 20 years of MANGA Entertainment, so it's possible he's working with them, in which case would be granted permission to make these songs and sell them for the company, but I wouldn't know if this is really the case.
