but basically, from what i know, the network bowed to the Super-Religious Types (with _no_ sense of humor).
the SRT did their usual schitck - they yelled, held their breath, basically threw temper-tantrums. oh, and threatened to BOYCOTT anyone who had ads in the timeslot. so the money went away, & the network pulled the show.
this is why you need to tell t.v. people loudly/often how much you like shows that you like. they listen to the "squeeky wheels".
if you like a show, say so. that's what kept MASH on-air it's first few seasons; MASH almost got X'ed after season 1.
