That episode of Birdman was just a bunch of clips from the old show voiced over to make it funny.
BIG HINTS:
The fact that Falcon 7 was not voiced by Stephen Colbert in the 60s as Stephen was probably just a kid watching the show. (Lol I just figured something out, Falcon 7 sounds like Phil Ken Sebben, I never got that until just looking this up on Wikipedia)
It cuts to the newer looking Birdman at the end, in his office.
The closing statement by the guy who introduces the episode is talking about Double Indemnity, a running gag in the series.
