Home Movies Music

[ Edited ]
It seems like the most regular questions that people who aren't necessarily Home Movies addicts ask involve the music of the series. This is a thread dedicated to the musical aspect of the show, whether it be Brendon and Jason singing about compliments or Duane singing about crazy legs or Melissa sing-talking about losing weight, the music and songs have certainly changed all our lives. Here we have a chance to discuss them.

The best places to hear the music from the show are:
On the show itself in repeat form or [adultswim] video or the DVDs.
On the CD that comes with the Home Movies season 4 DVD.
On Brendon's website, in the media section. (Only a limited amount of songs are here, but enough to satisfy some casual viewers. You'll note he hasn't updated in a while, thanks to his new show "DeathClock." )

EDIT: Ug, screw you smilies!

When i think of Home Movies, i always remember what made me fall in love with the show.

Mortgages and Marbles. the song "don't put marbles in your nose."

that was it, i saw that episode and i was hooked.

(and basically when i say hooked, i had accepted it into my little set of shows i like)

lets see the best songs have to be :

"Don't Put Marbles In Your Nose"

"Robin Hood and King Arthur" ( i don't belive that's what it's called)

"Don't Runover Childeren"

and whatever the name of the Kafka song where Dwayne was dressed up like a bug.

"Freaky Outie" will always hold a special place in my heart. It is a shame that it isn't included in any of the dvd extras. =(  Close 2nd and 3rd choices are "Sunset Theme' and "Dwayne and Clarice's Theme". Dwayne's solo in 'guitarmageddon' was great as well.

I love all the songs from Wizard's Baker, especially Duane's. Other favorites of mine include McGuirk's racing song, Trust Yourself, The original Starboy theme when it was paired with "Alone", Camp Campingston Falls, and Welcome to Hell.

The Wizard's Baker songs got me home from a friend's at **there is no 4** in the morning once. It was a long tired drive, all 10 minutes of it, but Wizard's Baker got me home safely.

Duane is the reason why I fell in love with Home Movies....

I love to think of the episode (back in Squiggle vision days) when Duane had that movie that was totally

like the Jeff Goldbloom Movie "the Fly" and Brendan got all jealous because everyone was all like "oooOoOO this is amazing"

Well, the music in that episode is amazing.

Yes THe episode with the Rock Opera based on Franz Kafka's meta morphasis.  Great music.  Season **their is no 4** came with a CD with a bunch of the music on it.

One of my favorite songs is the one at the end of the episode where Brendon is trying to win a film festival thing, and McGuirk has that guitar he beat away from that hippie dude and is threatening the guy behind the counter while singing. God, I laughed so hard.

Watch it again, one more time, watch it again, and everything'll be fine...  It's on the bonus disc as part of the "Pscyho-Delicate" medley.  < /plug >

I never really got into Home Movies until after I had watched Metalocalypse and the first episode I actually watched after seeing it was the "Don't Put Marbles In Your Nose" episode and when that played during the credits I noticed a huge simularity to the Dethklok songs and I've just always loved that show since then
Listen up, plz.

Surprisingly enough, some of the best songs on HM are completely instrumental. Sunset Theme and Heart Smashers, for example, are really beautiful.

The song I constantly hear in my head from HM is "Living like a bug ain't easy" from the episode The Director's Cut. A close second would be The Wizard's Baker.

Do any of you guys know where I can purchase the soundtrack? Or does it only come with the season 4 dvd? I kinda want an actual copy of it. It is so good! haha.

*sigh* Good times...

The soundtrack CD is a bonus with the season 4 DVD and the 10th anniversary boxed set.  I've seen it listed on its own secondhand, but why would you not want DVDs of season 4?

Well to be completely honest with you, I brought the cd and put it into my older brothers truck when I was hanging out with him one day and he kind of lost it. I hadn't ripped it to my computer yet because I had just got the dvd so...  For what it's worth, I was thinking of getting that Home Movies box set, but that won't be for a while. I'll figure something out though. Besides I was looking at Brendon Small's website and he has some of my favorites on there anyways.

I think I've pretty much gotten all of the Home Movies soundtrack just about. After all these years I feel complete.

I still crack up at Brendon's outdated website. "DeathClock" :smileyvery-happy:

They forgot to put 1 song on the CD, which was kind of an interesting song. It's that one where he's delivering papers and a dog tries to get him or something.
