New Home Movies

Cancel Shows like Metalopycapase, and Super Jail and invest money into making new episodes of Home Movie's. It's one of the few high quality comedy programs on this network. It could really use more seasons. The characters are loveable, it's not gorey, it's not gross. It's just a fun show, with mature adult sitiuations.

They'd also have to cancel Lucy and covince almost everyone who previously worked on Home Movies to come back and work on the show even though they just screwed a large amount of them over.

it'd be anarchy if Metalocalypse and SuperJail were cancelled. hands down some of the best shows [as] has right now. not saying I don't like Home Movies, cuz I really do but don't cut other good shows. [as] has that tendency to up and leave good older shows high and dry

I'm pretty sure Brendon Small has no interest in making more HM episodes after, what?, 5 or so years...

I think he's pretty content doing Metalocalypse...

cancel Metal and Superjail? you must be crazy...... those shows *and others* are what make [as] what they are now.... Home Movies had its enjoyable moments but after 5 years of no new episodes..... it should stay that way... the ending of the series was good

plus if Metal got canned... i would can [as]..... with an axe >.>

Your right, those shows are what make Adult Swim terrible today, as to what it used to be, which was a good block with a good mixture everyone could enjoy. Not just sick grossly themed shows full of childish jokes and gore.

metalocalypse is a satire on how some of the dumbest celebrities are often worshipped and revered as gods. if all you look at is the surface humor, of course you're going to think it's "childish"

don't get me wrong, i liked home movies, but like someone else said, it's been too long.

Not only that, Metalocalypse satirizes the whole "death metal culture" (or lacke thereof)... It's kind of paying an homage to and mocking it at once, I think.

It's not up to Adult Swim. It's up to the producers/directors of Home Movies.

One of which is the producer/director of Metalocalypse. :smileyindifferent:

apparently you and I are watching 2 different [as].... i find their original shows now as good, if not better, then some of their older ones

times change..... ppl change..... and as they change, culture has to change to keep up with the demand of folks..... music, books, movies, television all if it must meet the demands of what their fans want.... now not all fans will enjoy this change *like you and others arent enjoying [as] changes* but while they will lose some viewers, they are gaining viewers where it counts... the Neilson boxes...sure it's a flawed system to go with, but right now.... its the best that [as] has to go with what the majority of ppl like

Obviously the only real solution to the fact that people are on the [AS] forums in the first place is that [AS] needs to be a channel. Then you could just sit around all day and they would play everything all you old people like. But much like it's audience [AS] has grown up and realized that blood and farts and drugs and things that arn't funny are funnier than things that are, like sausage.

Sorry but it has nothing to do with optimism. It's the intelligence level of viewers. If your entertained by characters screaming obscenities at each other and losing limbs,  then you're probably not looking to think much. Then there are the people that like shows with good storytelling and likeable characters that don't resort to childish or stupid antics to get laughs. Most of the people who watch anime are the intelligent crowd of adult swim viewers. They enjoy the in-depth stories and well written and likeable characters.

The comedies that Adult Swim keeps greenlighting all seem to have the same things in common. They are poorly written, poorly animated, on a low budget, and seem to be targeted at people who enjoy alcohol, and being under the influence of narcotics. If this is the larger audience then it's quite obvious that the intelligence level is degrading. Though it's almost a fact that the majority is usually never  the smartest bunch.

It also proves that it's obvious that Adult Swim doesn't really care about the quality of their programming or about who watches it. It's nice to make money and be on top, but most of the time the top companies are the ones that make a superior product. Adult Swims strategy is to make a cheap product that appeals to the simple, which there is clearly more of.

Oh, snap... I love Dumbland (thanks for exposing me to that awesome TRASH, Makahari)...

People who can't differentiate between your and you're probably don't think much either... What's your point?

Thanks for proving my point. Pettiness, another child-like trait. You fit the demo, I was trying to describe. Sorry for not properly correcting my grammar quick enough for you at 7 in the morning, even though that was the last thing I did before reading your fantastic and well thought out counterargument.

I'm just saying, speak eloquently if you're going to speak down.

Otherwise, I don't give a Funfetti about grammar.

I take pride in being able to appreciate "low-brow" humor... It's kind of cool that I can actually see beyond what you're seeing, so WHOTEVZZZZ.

You can't see very well in the first place if you can't see grammar, let alone beyond anyone's field of vision.

back to the point on hand.... [as] is making stuff now-a-days that sell for them... sure Home Movie shows were big at one point in time, but right now the the more "childish" shows are what bring home the bacon..... and who doesnt like bacon?
