I would know not to expect much in the way of fancy dates or anything.  Just hanging out at the park and grabbing cheap Taco Bell once a month would be neatos.

You should just be upfront about it.  A lot of other people are in poverty.

If she works and is talking about she's probably going to ask about your work.  If you're job searching make it clear that you are in fact looking.

If she still lives at home slip it into the conversation that you do too.  Make it seem like you help around the house and #### like that, like maybe you're there because you're needed there.

Oh man, that's so completely false though. I'm not looking for work, but I am in school. Again. I really don't do much around the house. Mow the lawn occassionally, that's about it.

Yeah I'm a full time student. The whole reason I went back to school was because I couldn't find a job, so I just gave up. Also I'm doing hard classes, particularly chemistry, which I've been struggling with since I came back to school.

Well, she does have a Master's Degree in analytical chemistry and a Bachlor's Degree in biochemistry or something like that.  But she also has untreated Bipolar Disorder with bouts of paranoia.

One of the labs she worked at had giant frog tanks and she made a comment oddly like yours once.
