This thing started out slow, but we're getting some really good recipes in here.

I hope to see more contenders by Wednesday.
No matter who wins, though, this is a good cook book. :smileyvery-happy:

I just want to say that peolpe from outside of IB are welcome to play as well, and this contest isn't just open to savory choices.
If you have a dessert you think can beat savory choices, go for it. :smileyhappy:

Have you ever had it roasted? It takes on a whole different taste than when it is steamed or boiled to death, as is frequently done.

No, I haven't.

lol, Once I know I don't like something, I don't wanna try it some other way I might like it better.
I'm stubborn.

I'm sure it's very good that way for someone who likes it, though.

Gunloaf

Ingredients
1 Colt .45 pistol
1 AK-47
1 M-4
2 .50-cal mounted guns
1/2 sniper rifle
6 .45 caliber rounds
2 magazines (empty)
2 belts of .50 caliber rounds
1 sniper round

Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
2. Blend the Colt .45, the AK-47, and the M-4 together. Blend the .50-cal guns separately.
3. Pour each blend mixture into half of a separated brownie pan. Remove the divider.
4. Chop 1/2 sniper rifle and sprinkle onto the gunloaf.
5. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
6. In a separate bowl, begin preparing the ammunition. Remove the tips from the .45 cal rounds and set them aside for later.
7. Grind the rest of the .45 cal rounds with a pestle and put the powder into one of the empty magazines.
8. Grind the .50-cal rounds and put the ground powder into the other empty magazine.
9. Cut the sniper round in half and drop one half in each magazine.
10. Once the gunloaf is done, remove from the oven. Let cool.
11. Dust each half of the gunloaf with the contents of the magazines.
12. Sprinkle the .45 cal tips you set aside earlier onto the gunloaf.
13. Serve at room temperature. Add gunpowder to taste.

I don't mind brussel sprouts if they are sauteed in butter with a bit of brown sugar.

This is a meaty variation on a vegitarian curry dish I make,..so I guess Beef Curry over Rice.

1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 dash pepper
2 tablespoons butter
1 lb cubed beef stew meat
1 large onion , quartered and thickly sliced
3 cups beef stock
2 tablespoons curry powder
2 bay leaves
3 medium potatoes , cubed
1 large carrot , diced
2 tablespoons white vinegar
2 teaspoons soy sauce

Directions:
1) Mix together flour, salt and pepper. coat beef in flour mixture.

2) In a large saucepan or pot, brown the beef cubes and onions in butter.

3) Add the beef stock, curry and bay leaves. Cook on low heat for 30 minutes.

4) Add the potatoes, carrots, and vinegar. Simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour until all is tender and sauce has thicken to a thick stew consistency.

5) Mix in soy sauce to taste. Serve over steamed rice.

Well... I make a homemade peanut butter sauce that I add to stirfry...

But I don't know the measurements because I always eyeball it.. and it comes out the same..

I call it.... Spicy Peanut Stirfry

1/2 cup of peanutbutter (crunchy or smooth is fine)
blend soy sauce slowly until it is smooth (about 3-4 table spoons)
2 tsp garlic
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp honey
1 or 2 teaspoons of sriracha .. to heat preference OR some minced hot pepper of prefernce that you will add to the stirfry

thats the sauce

stir fry part

2 cups of egg noodles
3 eggs
sliced mushrooms
garlic
butter

whatever other veggies you want to add

cook the noodles, put them in a strainer

butter a frying pan on medium, add sliced mushrooms and a little garlic or onion.. put them in a large bowl to the side

scramble your eggs in the left over juices, add them to the bowl

cook whatever veggies..

once everything is cooked and to the side put the burner on medium high then add cooking oil to the bottom, just a little

then dump everything in the frying pan fast and dump the sauce on top.. mix it around for about 3 or 4 minutes, serve. >_>'

I love stirfrys.

I make a lot of home made sauces for them ^_^

clock is ticking.

are you on?

All these recipes should be put in a new thread and just call it something like the IB cook book or something and let people add new stuff to it and see if the mods will float it.
