Why do black people seem to be more fond of brighter colors

You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned superhighway.

I'm not sure what black people you're used to seeing, but I'm more than reasonably willing to say that they don't wear bright colors anymore than anyone else.

i think people of all races that maybe grew up poor and never had nice things as kids really take care of their belongings, clothing especially.  a lot of people grew up wearing hand me downs and second hand gear.  so when they work hard and get to a place where they can afford fresh, stylie threads they make sure that their gear is crisp, fresh and them colors ain't faded...  i don't think it's racist to ask that question, just misinformed
