Why are people so proud for not caring?

I've seen a few posts on facebook that all say "I don't care that Whitney Houston died!  Not a single fuuuuuudge was given on this day!"

 

 

Which is...fine I guess.  But why are they so proud about not caring?  It'd be different if they were saying something like "I don't know why only celebrity deaths are made a spectacle in the media when people die all over the world every day." 

 

 

But it's straight up I DON'T CARE LOL DEATH LOL. 

 

 

Why do they think that's something worth wearing like a badge and pointing at?  SEE LOOK GUYS I DON'T CARE I DON'T GIVE A fuuuuuudge  AM I COOL YET??!?

I think it's an extreme reaction to media hype about celebrity deaths. Personally I'd like to know if it is actually drugs or something else.

I'm like that with every celebrity death. I don't know them personally so where is it my business to know everything about them?

some people feel good about pointing out the insignificance and unimportance of the things that other people obsess over. that's all. makes them feel like they're getting rid of the photo-shopping imagination of the masses to see what's "real." people feel unique for pointing out the not-unique-ness of it all. they don't understand.

the reality is, it's pretty easy to see what drugs can do to a person over the course of a lifetime with whitney houston, especially since she was more successful in many regards than most of us will ever be.

anywho, sorry for the kinda' sorta' tangent.

......a bud of mine posted this which sort of puts things into perspective....but the people who you're talking about probably post things on fb just to post them.....mostly out of boredom....if they really didn't care, they wouldn't post....this not only gives them something to occupy their time, but also creats a source for input from friends......as said friend, tell them to stop douchin' around.....

.....well, news/media likes to shove a bunch of useless crap down our throats on slow news days.....i can't blame them for complaining, but they focus on the effects rather than the root cause....
