I was thinking more along the lines of her being underage through most of or all of the series (I haven't seen FA so I don't know how old she is at the end of that).

Time does pass, although I can't say how much.  Even in the first series, at least 7-9 months go past, perhaps more.  This is just going by the number of human transformations Inuyasha goes through.  Also, Sunrise left out at least one transformation that was in the manga, which increases the time span a bit.

What...ditdittwhhattwwdsgaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrggghhhh?!  Really.... really?!  You're going to try to change the conditions now, after I already proved my point?!

We're talking about American TV, I thought?  As in, "The TV airings always have to come before the video releases".  Something that's just because it's often done now, people seem to think this is set in stone, which it isn't.  And, it isn't even "always" done nowadays, either.

I got into the series by watching random Android Saga episodes and eventually kept tuning in every day.  They were re-runs, but eventually it got to new episodes.  At the same time these new episodes were on TV, you could buy VHS tapes of episodes later in the Cell Saga, and even some for the Great Saiyaman Saga which comes after.  For an InuYasha example, It would be like if while Adult Swim was showing the Panther Demon episodes, you could go out and buy the Band of Seven Arc DVDs, or something.

That was the whole point of buying them, so you wouldn't have to wait to see what comes next!  Granted, I eventually went back and bought earlier episodes, but that was also because mainly I hadn't seen most of those either, as they'd have the habit of mainly re-running the episodes of the most recent Saga and not the whole series from the beginning.

Do you really want me to dig through my closet and take photos of the tape cases; and then go look up the original airdates?  I really have to go to that much trouble?  I mean honestly, what purpose could I possibly have to lie about this?!

I didn't change the rules; and that is exactly my point.  They were reruns.  So you do not know when the original run aired.  According to ANN, they go way back into the 80's, even on American TV.  You would have to have a pre-1991 non-pirate video tape of them to be able to say with certainty that the tapes came first.

All I am saying is that all the information I have found on record points to the broadcast preceding the video tape release.

Dragon Ball aired in the late 80's, Dragon Ball  Z in the 90's.

What he said!  But yes, I am fairly certain that, even though I started watching re-runs, I recall when it went back to new episodes, and you could still buy tapes that were ahead of the Cartoon Network run, even when it was in premiers.  It's gotten late, and I don't feel like doing the work right now, but I'll go get my tapes, and look up the airdates, and I feel pretty confident that I'm correct on this one.

Because, as you know, nothing is more important than proving someone wrong on the internet!
