Since now everyone knows that they can create a banner for the InuYasha boards, and now everyone wants to make a Banner, it would be easier to decide, in a contest. I thought it would be more interesting to have a thread dedicated to a Monthly Banner Contest. 

Every other month a contest will be run, this contest will decided who's banner will be posted on top of the InuYasha boards. I leaves things more open for everyone and also gives a sort of variety to things.

Just a few rules to clear up:

1. Since this is a monthly contest with voting held on the last day of each month and entries to be submitted the last week of each month. Feel free to post banners early if you want feedback or help choosing one to submit, just make sure it's clear what your final entry will be when the time comes.
2. You are allowed one entry per month. You may re-submit entries that do not win.  Anyone can enter.
3. Banners cannot exceed 250kb or be larger than 900X450. Smaller than that is totally fine is allowed as well.

4. If you are using an image that was created by another artist, please make sure you have there permission before submitting it, this is to prevent any issues with the artist themselves, and it also out of respect for the artist and there work.

Few other Notes for the banners:

Background: 250 pixels high by 2000 pxiels wide, .jpg format (450 pixels pushes the page down nearly twice as far); 

Foreground: 250 pixeks high by no more than 500 pixels wide, .png format with transparent background (a 900 pixel wide image will overflow computers with 800x600 resolutions)

300 Kb max combined size.

Voting:

You get three votes ordered 1, 2, 3 where 1 gets 3 points, 2 gets 2 points, 3 gets 1 point. Contestants (If they choose to vote Cannot vote for themselves and have to vote for someone else. More on this will be fully explained when voting begins.]

Since there is already a banner posted this month, (and according to SessBebop the current banner will stay up until the end of the next contest, when the winners banner will be put up), also because of another contest planned for this month. The next contest will start the 1st of November. [The Theme will be to make a Christmas banner for December]

I cannot make banners. When I asked if I could make one in the Banner Thread, I was hoping someone would show me how to make one.

Do you know how to use photoshop, or any reasonable facsimile software?  (Gimp, Elements, Corel, etc.)

Nope. And I'm pretty sure you have to pay for half of those sites, so making a banner's a no-go for me.

Gimp's a free download.  So is Irfanview.
