Again, what's happens on Animax has nothing to do with what will happen in North America with Viz's dub. The existence of the Animax dub will not detract from that.
Besides, I would never recommend an Animax dub of anything. If you think American dubs have a **derp**ty, overused VA pool and shoddy ADR equipment, SE Asia dubs are 10x worse.

lulz... It would still be interesting to hear another version of Inuyasha... Especially a British sounding Sesshomaru...I'm intrigued...It would be cool if we could come across that version on the internet....

it might be funny for an episode or two. Inuyasha - Irish style.
until i realize its just a butchering of the series and loose interest.

Yea, I wouldn't be able to watch the whole thing... Butchering the series? Why must Inuyasha fans always take everything so seriously...

Dun dun dun! I was right, and now CG-Lover and Loverdemon look like haters instead of lovers.
Although, Starks, you have to be registered member of that forum to view that link, apparently...
I have to admit though that I am quite curious of this, nonetheless. I suppose it is nice to have a dub done so fast, but then again I suppose you get what you pay for, and for something done that quickly, yes?

I agreed that SE Asia anime dubs are horrendous but usually only for the local languages for eg Mandarin in Taiwan and Cantonese in Hong Kong.
They usually get the young pop idols to do it to attract a young audience. They only have looks and very little talents so you can imagine what the dub would sound like.
So far for Animax, I find the english dubs are, without exception, professionally done. For eg, as you mention, K-On which is very good and very matching to their
Japanese counterparts. The K-On Japanese VA were invited to Singapore last year so Animax is screening the Japanese voiced K-On first in the evening so they
can run promos of the Japanese VA extolling us to 'keep on watching Animax' in their cutesy voices and the english dub later on at night. The voices are so similar
that I sometimes I am not even aware I am watching the dub until I realised I am not reading subs.
I can assure you the english dub of the Final Act I am watching is really well done. I am mostly a manga-reader so I haven't seen many of the older series.
But I have watched the english dubbed 2 & 3 movies and the voices are really similar but then I **derp** at matching voices so can't say for sure.
When I said Sesshomaru sounded a 'bit british' I meant his voice was kinda deep, formal and less american sounding.
As I mentioned before, Animax also showed the english dub of FMA Brotherhood here first and when I watched the ones online, they are definitely the same VA
so I don't know about Inuyasha.
Here's something nice about Sesshomaru in the episode 2 dub which is not in the manga or sub:
During Kagura's death scene, when she asked Sesshomaru if he was disappointed that it was not Naraku, in the manga & sub, he answered, "I knew it was you." In the english dub I watched, he said," I knew it was you, Kagura." It was like a caress the way he said her name and really heightened the emotional impact of the scene. That he realised too late that he might be fond of her. It's a nice touch that I appreciate so I hope you guys get that in your dub too.
Put in Spoiler in consideration of those who have yet to watch the Final Act.

Haw dare you be so insulting? I never claimed to have any authority on this issue at all, and I never denied the possibility of another studio out there doing English dubs. Admittedly I wasn't aware of it, but when the idea was mentioned earlier I never flat-out said that it wasn't true.
This ^^
Except for the insult, used to it by now, this is Starks after all, and any of the insults he throws my way I don't really care about.
I never stated it was false, I did state that "according to "Sunrise" it was false. As I said above "Not trying to make you out a liar, just want to see if you can back up what you saying." ![]()

If a poster says he lives in SE Asia and is seeing an English-dubbed Final Act on Animax, you should've had sense enough to believe that poster.
That's not something a person would lie about even if they didn't have concrete evidence to show for it. Heck, mentioning "Animax" was evidence enough.

I agree, and I hate to repeat myself but as I already said I was unaware that Aniplex made their own English dubs.

I did a little bit of research on the notion that Inuyahsa has come up in English on Animax, and I found a few interesting things, so
I hope it'll clarify things for everyone here. For one, Animax has been promoting Inuyasha: The Final Act, in english, in commercials, and according to the dates online on their site they have already started airing like already previously said in this forum. Also, if you want, you can go to youtube and look up videos of animax and their commercials for inuyasha the final act. And, I noticed, it specifically says "Inuyasha: The Final Act", not "Inuyasha: Kanketsuhen" like it was in Japan. Personally, I think those video's are plenty legitimate information about English dubbed versions of Inuyasha.
Also, I definitely think that Inuyasha will be dubbed in English specifically for broadcasting in North America, simply because Inuyasha makes just too much money over here. T-shirts, episodes, movies, airings on AS, and action figures are all still selling in North America. I see it all the time, everywhere, and anywhere. Hot Topic still sells their merchandise after years! On Hulu, the subbed episode of Kanketsuhen had ratings just as popular as the english episodes aired on AS. I don't believe there isn't a reason for a company to take the new series and dub it since there is almost a guarenteed fact that it will be instantly popular. After Inuyasha ended a few years ago, I predicted that the anime would continue on after the manga was finished, because there was no reason for the series not to continue other than the fact that the anime caught up with the manga, so once the manga finished, I felt for certain the anime would continue. I still have that deep gut feeling that the dubbed version will appear too. Heh...I know that feeling really isn't based off of anything, but still. :]]
