That's weird, I wonder why they changed that?
Anyway, those episodes, the battle with Sesshomaru using the human arm and Royakan, were really good. It's one of the few times I can think of that I believed the heroes in a story might actually die or be defeated. And I actually thought Sango was dead after being attacked by Kohaku in their intro episode! I mean, think about it, for all we knew, that was just going to be another example of Naraku's dickish behavior. I never would have guessed that the demon slayer would live, much less join the team! Good stuff.

The only reason I can think if is they wanted to emphasize how badly Inuyasha was hurt, and how long it was taking him to heal. In the manga RT showed that fact by having him cough up blood and reflect on Sesshomaru's poison being so persistent right after Kagome said that he hadn't come for her for a week. It is probably another one of those things that Sunrise thought was unsuitable for 7 year old children.

Yeah, they never said anything about poison in the anime. Sesshomaru's hand didn't glow or anything, or look like he did anything but just stab him with his arm. So, I had thought for the longest time that Sesshomaru showed mercy, because it was his brother, by not instilling poison. But, apparently this isn't the case.

I have to check that episode again; but I vaguely remember a green vapor coming from his claws.

It's one of my favorite episodes that I've seen countless times, and I'm pretty sure there was no light or any such effect. I may have missed it, though. Feel free to check. My old recordings aren't the best quality, after all.

I checked the episode again last night. You can't see Sesshomaru's claws because he plunges his hand into Inuyasha's back too fast. However, when he withdraws the hand, his claws are smoking, which they only do when he is giving off poison. So, he must have injected Inuyasha with a dose of the stuff.

Well, after he just got finished giving off poison, is when they smoke, I think. They glow, then the glow subsides, then you see smoke, if I recall correctly. Either way, that answers that! Thanks.
