Being in a mischievious mood, I decided to post a little teaser for the upcoming fanfic contest.  You may also see helpme drop a hint in here now and then.

This weekend, I will announce a little pre-qualification twist that will affect the contest.

is it going to be prompt based or character based?  Limited word count or open?  When do we start?  How much smut can I have in it?  And can we make a rule that says NO MARY SUE FICS?

Check out the length of this post.  It's only 4908 words.  10K is more than twice that much.

Not that I'm questioning, but how would a hint play into this?

During the winter break.  That way people will have time to work on their stories.

This all looks interesting, and I should participate. Does it matter how long the fanfic is?

helpme is running the contest, so he is the final arbiter; but I will make an educated guess that a minimum of 3-5 single spaced pages in a word processor would be a low end starting point.
