I actually have been sick, so that is why I haven't had much to say on the boards lately.  I haven't really participated in the ep threads, either.  Just not feeling up to it.

Believe me though when I say I have definitely enjoyed Yurina in these past episodes.  She has been very cute and funny, and the way she was involved with the whole Gen and Aoi thing was entertaining, I must say.

She's hilarious, and so cute too!  She had a robotty looking expression on her face, too.  She was like "Cute boy, take me to him!"  To throw her friends off of her Yoshi-crush accusations!

Seems like she only gets a cameo in the episodes these days.  It's a shame because this character had potential, and now I wonder what was Tanabe's point of making her if she's not going to do anything in the story.

Perhaps she's just one of the unlucky characters in shonen that is around to fill out the background. Case in point: the wonderful Chizuru from Bleach.

Well, I read the manga according to the episodes every week. Example, today is Episode 42, so I will read "Episode 42" of the manga.

And from what I read, Yuri was a 1 chapter character. In the manga, she only appears in the cherry blossom tree. That's it.

It is the anime version that is overusing her. Remember that she only appeared in 1 chapter in the manga.

That is why in the anime, all Yuri does is sit in class and "worries" about Yoshi whenever he is awake. There is nothing else she can do because she is not a part of the main plot of the manga.

Well then... that settles that.  I guess someone producing the Anime just took a liking to her and decided to put her in more episodes.

Yeah, I think that is what happened to Yuri. Also, Tokine's "bully" in the anime has not apeared in the manga AT ALL.

Wait, is Mao in there, but just not acknowledged, or doesn't exist at all?  Because there's a big difference.  I don't see why they feel the need to add a pointless bully to Tokine's parts.

Sad thing about Yuri... I really liked her.  I didn't realize she was a one chapter character.  It's just a really weird thing to do, though... ya' know?  What was the point of Yuri even existing, then?  To show us that there are other humans with special powers besides the Kekkaishi?  But, we already know that.  Lest you all forget about snake teacher.

It's just such a weird thing to do.  I mean, think about it.  It would be like if they took those friends of Chad that I think appeared only in his introduction story, and then peppered them throughout the Anime in random, tiny scenes, for no reason.
