There are two dog spirits, one that has a particularly interesting story, to say the least.

And I think Yurina Kanda is just the cutest...she's a girl in Yoshimori's class, but she has the ability to see spirits (that she hides from her friends). Yoshimori knows this, and she goes to him for advice about what to do if she sees a spirit. There isn't much more of her in the rest of the anime, but she has one (literary) function she hasn't fulfilled yet.

Does yurina ever get an actual purpose in the manga? She seemed like someone who was just thrown in then abandoned. Baker ghost got more development than her lol

Yurina had the literary function of transforming and maturing Tokine's attitude and feelings towards Yoshimori. Once she fulfilled that, she was pretty much tossed aside.

You know what? I'll take the dam fillers any day over the show just getting some bs ending that completely defies all logic and then finding out the manga is exponentially better (I will never get over soul eater doing that to me). Though kekkaishi was kinda meh and did the ending thing at least it was handeled better.

But yea poor bleach characters with abandoned side charcters left and right.
