He kind of figured it out in the episode last night where he decided he must be native american because his son was a native american.  He has all of these signs and visions, just never clicks it together, or is willing to admit to everyone that Joseph isn't his.

Dale puts on a tuff guy outer shell( bounty hunter, mercenary) but He even admitted in yesterdays episode, (Bobby turns in to Rocker Christian), that He lets Joseph listen to any kind of music he wants, beacuse hes scared of Joseph, LOL.

Yeah cus all running jokes being destroyed at the end of a series is what they need to focus on instead of making a good send off for the show. The fact that he acts the way he does and doesn't know is the joke/point. That's it, it's not meant to go further than that. Now stuff that they have hinted at the entire show run like Boomhauser's job or what state the Simpsons actually live in, that's all fair game...

i have watched this show for years and ultimately analyze almost every aspect of the show from a physcological point of veiw and there is a lot going on underneath the surface this is why its bull**BLEEP** that people trash this show and that fox hasnt given the hardcore fans of this show the rest of the seasons for purchace fuuuuuudge you fox and american idol........anyway dale knows about his wifes affair and his son he has caught them numerous times and he obviously knows about joeseph but he chooses to ignore the fact and is in serious denial about this therefore he is insane paranoid and stressed and smokes like a chimney especially when he doesnt know what to do with his hands all the government conspiricy and ufo nonsence is just a denial and cover up and something for him to focus on besides his family issues.......just an opinon folks lemme know what ya think

It's funny when he sends Hank to get a massage from John Redcorn, because Nancy has been getting his migraine curing massages for years. The guy's mind isn't built to think in a normal manner, he can't put two and two together, but he can understand conspiracy theories because they make no sense.
