The State Of Lucy Daughter of the Devil

As of now, Lucy Daughter of the Devil is in limbo. [as] has not promised another season, but is not overly against the idea. Show creator and writer Loren Bouchard has to write a few scripts and send them in to [as] for approval, as though pitching the show again.

Loren told fans at the Lucy Daughter of the Devil Unofficial Fansite that the potential for a new season is not great, as he's been delayed in the script-writing process and there was some miscommunication between himself and [adultswim], but said not to give up hope yet.

We must, for now, keep our fingers crossed and, if at all possible, try and reach people at Williams Street (letters have been effective in the past) to show our support for the show. Besides that, it's in God's or Satan's hands. Whoever most fits the bill.

well i can't say i am shocked, but i am bit miffed at how the show could not get a second season.

Assy came back without any question, and i think Lucy has way more potential. oh well.

that's a shame that Louren has to re-sell the show, LDOTD is great and as it progressed it showed how much potential it could have.

i don't get how this show is not automaticly renued, it is the best of the new series lucy, xavier, saul, t&e.

It definately has the best shelf life for the episodes, the show has the type of humor that is slow at first but just gets funnier each time you watch. and the characters and voice acting is amazing.

i hope they re-pick up the show again.

That's a really good point. I am, at least to some degree, a fan of all those shows you mentioned, but Lucy easily has the best shelf life. It's the one I'm most likely to enjoy down the road and watch repeatedly. You just can't catch everything in there in one watch.

That is so unfair!! Is Adult Swim caving into complaint letters from fanatic religious groups??? Lucy is one of the best shows created for any network in a long time. You do have to have a measurable I Q to enjoy it (unlike Assy McGee or Tim and Eric) and that is a big plus for me! Darn the Man, Save Lucy!

I highly doubt it's related to any sort of religion issue. I doubt [as] would cave (they might), but more so I doubt any religion groups would really notice. It is a pretty great show though and I hope they reconsider.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The show is great. It's one of the few that I completely enjoy and still continue to watch. It deserves a second season. And a third.

They know we like it already, but a little more begging & pleading can't hurt...

As breakout said at the beginning, Loren Bouchard has to write some more scripts before [as] can decide again. They want more "sitcom-like" episodes like "Escapeoke" & "Dildo Factory" & less horror spoofs like "The Special Fathers Vs. The Vampire Altar Boys" & "Satan's School for Girls". LB can do both equally well, IMHO, but [as] wants more sitcom-type eps. Be patient & hopefully [as] will greenlite a 2nd season real soon.

I signed up for this board with the sole intention of voicing my support of Lucy. I would be very sad to see such an enthralling show not given a second chance (which I honestly think is all it needs. It's not the easiest show to get into, but neither is, say, the Venture Brothers. Like the Ventur Bros, though, it is definitely one the most rewarding of the AS programs).

A DVD would be nice, at the very least.

I can't believe [as] is thinking of dropping this show. The writing is awesome, the effects, hell, even the music. I hope they reconsider...To be honest, I just passed LDOTD over for too long mostly because I wasn't used to the animation style, but bored one night, I checked it out and I've been watching ever since. Even my mom, a catholic who is a total sissy when it comes to anything even remotely macabre, and practically has a heart attack everytime I say '####', laughed when I made her watch it.... ....most of the time I make her watch [as] with me she starts praying in spanish....
