Lupin III

The origin of the Lupin III episodes airing on Adult Swim has me confused. Are these old episodes from years and years ago being played...or new episodes of an old series. I tried to do the research, but ended up more confused.

Yes, i was wondering 2 the animation looks old, but some of the things they say is kinda modern.

theres a reason for that.  its called "voicing over" a process that involves taking a given piece of video feed, and putting a given audio track over it.  have you noticed in the really old godzilla movies, the words dont match the lips?  well not only cause its in a different language, but the timing was off also. :smileywink:

in lupin 3, its a japanese cartoon, so they had to make revisions and put in english stuff. same with dbz....etc.

I like how they mention modern things. One time I heard **bleep** Clark thrown into their conversation, and Halle Berry.

err... here we go.

Lupin III was made in Japan during the 70's (hence the animation).

It wasn't dubbed to English until recently, so they "Modernized" it by adding various pop culture things into the dialogue.

Well...what I mean is, which Lupin III series is this? Is it the first one? I read there were three made.

The Lupin series that Adult Swim is currently airing, is the second series.

It originally aired in Japan from 1977-80, and was only brought to America recently.
