I hope it's better than the Michael Jackson one.  How could it not be? :robottongue:

Is it Dino's daughter that does the voice of Igor?

Absolutely. It's a pretty clever extended p.enis joke. Compare this to Minoriteam's "Black Coq" episode.

Like 'Upright Citizens' Brigade' Big D!ck Joke...(that's an old one, but a good one).

Yes, better than Michael Jackson.  The show tunes bit was either a flop or a genius move of contrast.  I'm not sure which yet.

I knew I recognized that voice from somewhere!  The guy who voiced Thomas Jefferson also voiced Henpecked Hou from the Xbox video game, Jade Empire.

I think it started off strong, but it really started to dip a bit during the end.

Three things.

2. Let's just say it now, that song was pretty lame. Not the lyrics really, just like. The visuals. It just kind of **alf**.

EDIT: Ok, I watched the second showing of it last night and now this is the only part that bothers me.

I can tell there is potential here for something really really great, and in each episode so far it seems like it is just about to peak but then it falls just short of it. I really hope it gets renewed after this.

I **alf** hope in my hope of hopes.

It was pretty entertaining. Definitely better than "Yawn of the Dead". I loved the voice and characterization of Thomas Jefferson. The song was nice, but I wish it hadn't taken up the whole rest of the episode. I want to know how Jefferson's newfound wisdom worked out for him.

I laughed the hardest at "WAS IT WORTH THE TIVO PAUSE?". Yes, I rewound my (non-Tivo) DVR to read the text.

Dino mentioned in his interview that several cuts were made to this episode. I wonder what they were, and if the episode actually would have seemed more offensive had they been left in. As it is, it's not exactly historically inaccurate (minus all the surgeries, I mean), so I don't see how it could be too offensive.

didn't catch it completely, was doing other stuff while it was on and wanted to focus more on it.  So am catching the next broadcast (plus taped it so can watch it later again hopefully).

From what I saw though, it was funny.  I saw/heard most of the episode.  Definitely liked it better than the first episode.

Seems kind of celebrity-culture focused, at least in these first few eps.  Maybe they're getting that out of the way or something. I really do like these eps, I think they are funny and entertaining etc.

My concern is that - it's not - okay, it's funny, don't get me wrong, and I think the jokes are extremely well constructed, but aside from the fantastic/unique visuals, it's not going anywhere new.  I mean, it's not showing me anything - like every other

sitcom/animated comedy out there sort of already does this.

They pick a celebrity and go for an episode.  Or some pop culture thing and do that.

I wouldn't place Frankenhole exactly in that throng just yet, as the visuals I think really set it apart.  Which - I guess you'd sort of expect from these animators and this animation house.  And the writing is very good.  But - and maybe this is simply a function of this being a new series/just getting its TV legs sort of deal, it's not utilizing any of the elements it possesses as yet to set itself apart from the throng in the way that it perhaps could.

It's a decent show.  It's entertaining.  But right now it's just another show.  I would say - maybe just another show with a ton

of potential.

And that's probably something we'll see expanded - I mean, my feeling/prediction is that as the series progresses, we'll see more and more of that potential realized.

I mean, already, I thought (and this means nothing in a sense since these are out of order) this week's episode was a little better.  And that may well be an element in the order of these eps.  Maybe in a sense part of it is that this is something of a creative progression rather than a progression of what particular order they were written/intended from a plot perspective or whatever.

I like the show.  It's entertaining and holds a lot of promise.  I wouldn't say it's as good as it has the potential to be by a wide

stretch, but also sense that it'll get there given a little time.

I was sorry that "Moral Orel" didn't get renewed and the viewers were left hanging, although it did come back later.  I don't think I'd miss "Frankenhole" (yet) if it befell the same fate.

Yes, a ton of potential, plenty of incisive jokes, but it doesn't have the underlying coherent satircal theme that "Orel" had.  "Frankenhole's" satire is more like one-liners strung together, so far.

K, I've weathered through the biggest racists jokes that came from AS shows and none of them ever bothered me. Most of em were funny. This one was a lil overboard for me or maybe it's just me. Trust me, the show was funny, but some of the jokes were too much for me.

We were a new generation when anime was first introduced to us. Why can't this new generation do the same?

yeah this one was slightly racist, but I'm sure the show won't focus the series as a whole on humor like this.

I am not really someone who's offended by any kind of joke, but my comment is the following:

1. I think South Park frequently does a lot worse than this episode.
2. Some of the racial humor was kind of a play on how Thomas Jefferson owned slaves at one time. Some people believe that since Jefferson allegedly had sex with at least one of his slaves, that this constituted rape, because a slave would have no choice but to consent to sex.

Ooh! I have one more thing to say. Looks like Dino S shared your worries about this episode in this interview:

What episode do you think is going to be the most offensive or get the biggest reaction?

We have a very broad smorgasbord of offensiveness on the show. I hesitate to say because I don't want to spotlight any episode and make it a bullseye. We were very concerned about the Thomas Jefferson one. But we made some cuts and edits which I think helped a lot. We had interns and animators refuse to work on the show because of it. And I don't blame them. I think the way the show was-it was written by a couple of comedy guys who were just trying to get laughs and we became a little more socially conscious after that and scaled back on a lot of stuff.

I liked the song near the end too. "Never let a lady think you care." ;D

Posted last week after watching the premiere - pretty much had nothing good to say about the show and stand by that.

Gave it another chance - and as someone who is fair and not posting with an agenda, wanted to say this episode did make me laugh a couple times and if nothing else was way better than the premiere (imo).  Still not sure it will ever be a show I love, but def. did improve.

I definitely liked this ep more than the Jackson ep.  I'd like to see where they go with it.  Conceptually, it's interesting.  And so far, I love the voice-acting.
