Well the promo looks good so far, premise should be fun, and from what I've seen of the clips, it looks like we'll see some splendid animation. The character's seem a little less mature than in the first season though, but this could very well be a scene from an earlier point in their lives, so we'll just wait and see.

Nice. You really shouldn't have made this thread until Midnight Saturday night, though.
Or maybe that rule applies only to anime show discussions?
Either way, looking forward to new Frankenhole and finding out whether or not Bleach kept its Top 3 streak alive, all in the span of 12 minutes!

I want to preface this by saying Im under the influence of mushrooms and marijuana.
The season premiere of frankenhole was more than i could have ever expected. I had very nervous energies with how it would turn out (I was, like most, sadly disappointed with the superjail season premiere, but dieing for more)
The opening sequence with the party/bar vibe was so well animated with so much going on in the background, I thought the way they animated the bat taking a **noel** was really funny, and the whole episode as a whole was really well written. That is what I love most about the Moral Orel/Frankenhole production is the amazingly well written story, paired with the incredible animation and you have a perfect show. I dont know if you read this but thank you, Dino!

Glad to see a Joe episode, I'm also amazed with how - like there's actually a robust b story in an 11 minute show. I love the show and I love that it seems to want to expand rather than contract. With the 11 min format, and tv in general is full of notes like "too many characters" and whatever else, it's amazing that this show is so full and fun and still fits so perfectly into a half segment. And a new little insert in the opening with more characters. The attention to detail is fantastic. This is one of those shows I kinda look forward to and wait for and, when it's on, everything else stops. Which is unusual for me because I'm always trying to do like 3 things at once (which I hate, but can't help it cuz so much to do). But it never disappoints. It's always visually fantastic, funny, and interesting.
Loved the monsters this episode, loved that it was a Joe episode, I think that character can be super funny. The Dr Moreau stuff was cool. Tons of characters crammed in everywhere, I'm a huge character person. I love the visuals and animation.
I'm sort of seeing - eh - like the Elizabeth character had some good moments in this episode, but it's a little disappointing to see the character taken down the Blobberta road of "out cleaning" type stuff. It seems kinda like the female characters often take a back seat in Adult Swim shows, animation in general, etc. But in the first season I thought Elizabeth was underutilized and almost felt sort of misunderstood creatively in the sense of like - she feels often like a prop or necessity than a real character. Though she had a few good moments in season 1. I felt this episode was kind of a return to that. It almost felt kind of like "well we have a woman character, she should clean and then browbeat her husband" which is sort of funny on a certain level, but Frankenhole is such a character driven universe, it's just diappointing that one of the characters with the most potential seems to be so ill defined and generically used. It was kind of the same with Blobberta, but she had some insanely good scenes, and a very well thought out character. Some of the best Moral Orel scenes were Blobberta scenes. By comparison, Frankenhole seems to sort of flounder with Elizabeth.
Most shows, I don't really have that detailed thoughts on them because they're not particularly detailed or layered shows. Frankenhole, a little 11 minute cartoon show, has more depth in its pinky finger than an entire season or entire run of most of what's on television.
But the best thing I can say about it is it's super fun to watch. It's one of those "crappy week" shows, where if I'm having a crappy week (and I usually am) it makes me actually feel better to watch an episode of Frankenhole. And it works every time.

yeah actually, those tentacle flails were impressive. considering like - the stage and the angles and movement and stuff, it looks like it would have been super hard to pull off, but it looked pretty seamless.
it's one thing to sort of jot down "staples tentacles to monster's head" in a script, but then - to have those tentacles look that awesome is kind of surprising to me. It seems like it would be the toughest thing to animate because they're just floating around in midair sort of, attached to his head at one end, and the movements still seem very natural and specific.
Always amazed at the level of visual quality and the look that this show consistently achieves on such small budgets.
