I kid I kid, but yeah, one of those guys was probably the basis for that record shop owner. It's kind of funny how Dethklok is supposed to be a "black metal band" but clearly they don't really fit in the confines of black metal.

Well, Brendon writes all the music on the show, not Tommy.  But the song in the video is NOT by Brendon if you mean the music in the video in the first post.  As per info under the video on YouTube, song is Gorgoroths 'Katharinas Bortgang' from 'A Sorcery Written In Blood'

Their image is totally black metal.. I remember in the early 90s corpse paint and bullet belts were totally in.. Lol the only things they are missing for their image are those ridiculously long spiked armlets.. And shoulder and boot spikes. Seriously look at their house! It is like some cheesey Immortal video.

Their music however is another story.. They arent just death metal. I have heard several different influences over their series of productions. I was never a fan of commercializing what used to be underground metal but everytime I see King Diamond in the credits I want to cream myself.. Or even James Murphy (Obituary)

I agree w/you necro, there are a lot of different influences from metal subgenres in DK's music. I think prolly the best indicator though that DK are truly NOT a Norwegian Black Metal type of band is the overall musicianship. I've heard some gawdawful exscuses for music come out of the black metal community in my years as both a fan and musician(drummer) of underground metal. Very little black metal does anyhting for me. I may perhaps be over generalizing ,I'm sure there's some blackmetallers out there who actually are competant musicians, I've not heard very many of them though.
