Last night Adult Swim took some of the posts from the "What I Want From AS in 2011" thread in General Adult Swim Discussion.

They took mine for season 4 of Metalocalypse and Dethalbum 3 and said YES!!! 

No dates yet,  but there might have been possible dates in the annual premieres bump that was also last night.  But too fast to read.

I tried editing the Wikipedia page of the "List of Adult Swims programs" to reflect this news but I screwed it up and it got changed back - could someone fix this?

I'm as excited as any of you but when is the earliest we can honestly expect this? September? November? I wouldn't mind getting Dethalbum III for X-mas.. but it's still so far. >.< Let's stop torturing ourselves. A premiere/release date will only antagonize us more.

It will be fall at the earliest.  But might be later.  The album will more likely be next year, maybe early.

I wonder if Season 4 will have more action? One thing I didn't like much about Season 3 was a significant lack of plot and action and more character development.

Actually, I liked the character development (particulary from 'The Dead Man' with DK and CFO's father-and-sons relationship).

I would rather have Toki do all the episodic singing a la 'Toki's Cat Song' and 'Underwater Friends'....other than Skwisgaar's 'God or Man', I didn't care for the rest of DK having their 'song moments.'

Hopefully, we'll find out some info regarding CFO...and WHY he was gone for 9 months (perhaps he was getting his 1959 Les Paul appraised/re-strung?)!!!

I think some of us want to see Murmaider II: The Water God music video. They might save it for the 3rd Dethalbum, but now that we know about season 4, the world waits for Dethkloks return...

Well, first they have to make season 4 before they can show it.

I would guess it won't be until at least late fall or winter before we see anything.

I'm so glad it wasn't Metalocalypse's Hamburger Time.  But I was extremely disappointed with last years season.  Dont get me wrong it was hilarious and awesome, but advance the Charles story, and this year could you please not make us wait 6 months for the other "Half" of the season, which turns out to be 3-4 episodes.  You guys didn't really need 6 months to write 4 20min episodes.  And maybe not a half season this year.  Anyone else notice Season 1 & 2 were about 20 episodes, but season 3 was 10?   I love this show, please dont kill it!!

Seasons 1-2 episodes were 15 minutes long and Season 3 episodes were 30 minutes long. I'd imagine that they'd take longer to make.

No, it was five episodes in each half of season 3. 

And, yes, it takes that much time to do the show.  Specially when there are tours in the middle of it.  And Brendon still worked on the show while touring.

I will repeat for the upteenth time, the only season that ran straight through from first episode to last was season 1.  And then Brendon and Tommy had probably been working on it for about year & a half to two years, with all the developing the characters, show backstory, etc etc.

Season 2 premiered Sept. 23, 2007, ran for 6 episodes to Nov. 18th with a 3 week break in the middle.  Then came back after about 6 1/2 months on May 25, 2008 (if you don't count the April Fool's surprise airing of "Dethwedding") and then ran to Sept. 7th.  (It's a little fuzzy to count the episodes as there were two 1/2 hours, so it was either 12 or 14, but it was a full season.)

Season 3 premiered November 8, 2009 and ran for 5 episodes to December 13th. There was then a break for 9 1/2 months actually to September 26, 2010 with the last 5 episodes, which ended October 24th.

Okay, they might write 5 episodes in six months, but it takes more to do an animated show.  Mainly, animated it, recording the voice actors, changing the animation because the story is running long/short, recording the voice actors because something changed, doing color correction, etc etc etc.

So, yeah, it takes time to do a show.  As they are just now finalizing the contracts, they haven't started work on it.  It'll be awhile before we get anything.

It does.  Brendon has said in interviews that season 3 took longer to do because of the length of the show.  Plus they had a complete changeover of the writing staff and Tommy had left the production end of the show to work on MWA.
