Metalocalypse

I know this may sound a little crazy, and i have no idea how or why this thought even occured to me but, my guess is that Selatcia is some form of ancient Sumarian god who has a personal stake in unleashing the metalocalypse.

The facts are these:

1.His past is (at best) murky. at least according to crozier, who let's face it works with the us millitary and could probably find out how many times you wet your bed as a child with out breaking a sweat. The guy is a friggin enigma wrapped in a riddle dipped in secrets and covered with mass amonts of what the hell!

B). He does a pretty good job of controlling things without ever acctually DOING anything. he's intervined maybe twice. and that's really only during the season finales when things get all bat-***-crazy and there's so much chaos no one but key players (ie people like ofdensen (yay) and crozier (not yay)) and the soon to be dead will acctually notice. and his wrath is sooooo not nice.

Tres- he's constantly tring to make dethklok even /more/ brutal/ hardcore metal-ly/ INSANE than they alredy are. whether exposing them to the blackness of the modern institution of marriage, or the swirling vortex of agony and humiliation that is spending time with thier families. he apparently WANTS them to become much more powerful. pehaps in preperation for something?

and lastly: He posseses some pretty inhuman abillities and a megaton of power, even so far as people who are normally associated with dethklok are concerned . he is after all the only one i've seen so far who can not only makepeoples eyeballs explode with two words and a vague gesture, but also he did that whole weird " and unto you i shall bestow a truth so awesome you'll go crazy and them immeadiately forget it, only to recall it with massive amounts of pain later" thing to the (not so) good general. and in super-sped-up-subliminal-message-like slide show format too!

other signs/clues/points of the coniracy include:

The fact that he's obviously pretty ruthless, and i'm pretty sure that he knows EVERYTHING EVER, ALL THE TIME. So- omnipotence: check. and he doesn't really seem to care about dethklok themselves so much as their potential or followers or power, or the probable and potential outcome of their actions. He's obviously quite the puppetmaster, because ever since he/ the tribunal ahve bee n involved they (ie dethklok) have only gotten more powerful. He is a man with a plan, and he makes sure things go according to i t. or else -BOOM- no more eyballs for you.  hmmmmm . . . . i wonder what happens if dethklok succeeds in become the worlds #1 economic force/power

He also seems pretty intent on keeping the band oblivious to things. which is possibly why he let  Charles live because he manages to take care of them and thier power while keeping them in their weird little dethmetal bubble of "who cares". and charlie being charlie obviously had to find out why.and sorry but to me those things all point to supernatural ancient diety. oh look my point! finnaly found it.

As to  why he wants the metalocalypse to come about. maybe it's like that whole ragnarok thing 

Ragnarok, according to wikipedia, is characterized by

 "a series of major events, including a great battle" insert the words violent dethmetal concerts here

"foretold to ultimately result in the death of a number of major figures"  The governer of florida for instance, or a well know if really creepy preist

"the occurrence of various natural disasters," a Hurricane in florida here, a Volcanos eruption there, earthquakes etc 

"and the subsequent submersion of the world in water." Go into the wa~ter . . . .

 "Afterward, the world resurfaces anew and fertile, the surviving gods meet, and the world is repopulated by human survivors."  fertile with metal! wahahahahaha! oh and klokateers would be perfet for repopulation. also . . . hello glowing babies--? the chosen few? dun dun duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun!

 . . . . so theres that.

Or maybe he's been trapped in human form and the only way to reverse it is to bring about the end of the world by the metalocalypse, as fortold by the prophecy.

 Who knows man, who knows. but it would certainly make things interesting, don't ya think?

Any whom i know it seems kinda crazy and no doubt, there are alot of other possibilities but when this whole random hodgepodge of thoughts occured to me it just seemed to make sense. Well,in /my/ head anyway.

Geez that was long winded. sorry. but what do you guys think about it? i'd love to know. and yes i know i'm crazy

I slowed down the "Ive got something to show you" scene from the seas.2 finale,and it seems to me that Dethklok has been around since the time of the ancient Sumerians,as they show heiroglyphs with each members image.They then show a series of corresponding coins,planets,and stones connected to each band member.They cut to a shot of Selatcia looking full-on bad **derp** in what appears to be a norse gods suit of armor,complete save for 5 empty jewel sockets across the chest.My theory is,Selatcia needs to keep Dethklok alive to obtain the stones,align the planets or both,in order to activate the armors supernatural powers.I usually wouldnt put so much effort into figuring out a cartoon,but I am a fan of Brendon Smalls and Scott Adsits' writing,plus I love the show!!

that would make sooo much sense . . . i just know that selatia wants to use them as some kind of grab for world domination  . . . or something like that. yeah it is a little weird that we're focused on this so much but i, for one, am the type who just cannot let something drop if it stumps/interests me . . .

i think her is the father of dethkolk, he is there creator and he wants then alive so he can concor the world and i think offtenson firgured that out when he was "broght back" to life

I have closed captioning on my T.V. b/c I am partially deaf and it writes out the name of people when they aren't in frame of what they are saying, and the big metal face guy that's allied w/ the revengencers IS SELATCIA! So why the fuuuuuudge is he keeping them alive one second on the council, then trying to kill him.

Seriously, watch any episode with both characters, with CC1 setting in closed captioning, and they are the same, spelled the same...? WTF does that mean then? He's bi-polar? Schitzophrenic?

No, the metal masked assassin is NOT Salactia  (spelling from Jon Schnepp btw).   The assassin has not been officially given a name.

 Remember, CC can and is frequently wrong.  So take it with a large grain of salt.

About ten minutes into the third season, I had the following theory:


The unnamed fellow with the pharoah goatee appearing in the early Dethklok lineup as seen
in "RenovationKlok" is Selatcia (but probably goes under a different name--possibly even
an anagram of "Selatcia").

The others in the band deeply respected his innate sense of all things metal.  Nathan Explosion
was especially awed and considered him to be the most brutal man he ever met.

But Selatcia's maniacal pursuit into the deepest depths of metal led him to uncover and decipher
the metal apocalypse prophecies.  Studying the prophecies then became an all-consuming
obsession.

Selatcia grew wierder and wierder, much to the annoyance of his fellow band mates, who
were getting kinda sick of hearing him preach his apocalyptic theories.

Increasingly estranged from his band mantes, he withdrew further into his research, which
then led him to the Sumerian pictograms. These confirmed that he was not himself to be
one of the horsemen, but would serve a different role.  And that role was to ensure the
arrival of the Metalocalyps.

Offdensen's growing distrust of Selatcia prompts him to begin investigating the musician.

Meanwhile, Selatcia secretly mounts a global search for the unknown figure in the pictogram
. . .a search that ends in Norway with a teenager named Toki.

Using mind control, Selatcia convinces Toki that he can play guitar and that metal is
his life.   Selatcia then does the same to convince Dethklok that Toki should be the band's
new rhythm guitarist (indeed, Dethklok never even suspects that it wasn't their own idea).  

Although he is relieved that the band is rid of Selatcia, Offdensen's suspicions are only
heightened by the peculiar change in Dethklok's lineup.  But amidst the distractions of
the band's skyrocketing success, his investigation slips to the back burner and Selatcia
retreats into the shadows.

Having pulled the pieces together for the coming Metalocalypse, Selatcia assembles a
powerful think tank to keep the wheels turning.

In the end, Offdensen will, as usual, have crucial knowledge and skills to save the day,
but it will actually be Toki who turns out to be the key to it all.



Then, again. . .maybe I'm imagining it.

Not likely.  For one thing, Salatica (spelling from Jon Schnepp btw) is TALL.  About 7 feet from what we can gather from the show.  The unknown early member of Dethklok is not much over 6 feet and a lot thinner than Salatica.

Also, from them signing the contract, the only unfamiliar sig has the initials "M.H." and fans studying the writing believe it's for "Magnus Hammerstorm".

So, it's an interesting theory, but it's not supported by the show's story lines so far. 

Several things are hinted at:

Nathan and Salactia seems to have the same facial features by comparison.  But then the metal masked assassin also matchs Salatica in build and what little we can see of his features.

What, with a silent "C" after the "i"?  Perhaps either the voice actors are all misreading the script or

you're placing too much faith on Jon Schnepp's typing ability.  I'd call it "official, but still questionable".

Yeah, the height appears inconsistent.  But then, if he has become superhuman, then standing

larger-than-life would only follow.

That the early member was "a lot thinner" is really inconsequential (Nathan was thinner back then, too). 

15-25 years is plenty time for that to change--especially for someone who is going through a psychic 

transformation and feeds on pure metal and the growing metalocalyptic power.

As for the initials. . .of course he wasn't called "Scelcectcica" (I added more silent "C"s just in case)

back then, or else when he introduced himself to the newly-recruited tribunal, they would have all said

"Wait a minute! Aren't you the guy who left that famous band? Or am I thinking of Pete Best?"

Yeah, I know that there has been nothing in the show's story line thus far that explicitely supports the theory.

But on the other hand, there has been nothing, visual or plotwise, that really contradicts it.  That's what

fan speculation is all about. 

Of course, in a world where characters return after gruesome dismemberment, contradiction doesn't

present much of a continuity challenge, anyway.  Now, if I was a fanatic theorist, when the storyline does 

eventually contradict my theory, I would just take that as proof that the writers read this board and had to

rewrite their scripts because I had inadvertently spilled the beans on the surprises they had been planning.

"Magnus Hammerstorm", huh?  Interesting.  Hadn't noticed that there was a name.  If the pic in the

character Wiki of the signiture is an actual screenshot from the show, then I am convinced that not

only do the initials "M" and "H" appear, but that it does appear to be a single signature, that the second

name is definitely "Hammerstorm", and that the first name, although not as clear, probably is , indeed,

"Magnus".

Now, what evidence is there that that is from the unknown member?   In which episode did it appear? 

Was it fromthe contract signing scene in "RenovationKlok"?  I haven't seen that episode since the premiere

last year; I might have to wait for the DVD before I can study it myself.

Well, then you just missed it.  It was on again this past Sunday.

Yes, it is a cropped screen cap from the episode.  Put it there myself.  And it was from Renovationklok, the intro flashback. 

You really need to watch the episodes.  That discussion started back when the episode first premiered last fall. 

As to thinner, I meant general build.  Yes, one can get heavier, but that does not change how your muscles are on your frame.  Salatica is a lot larger than Hammerstorm.  Unless there was a major body switch, they are not the same character.

The devil in Bluesklok is referrd to as the Blues Devil if I remember correctly.  So there could be a different devil... the Metal Devil.
