Mobile Suit Gundam

It's a loose retelling of Mobile Suit Gundam, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, and Char's Counterattack mixed with the pretty-boy team formula, a la Saint Seiya (Knights of the Zodiac) and Samurai Troopers (Ronin Warriors).

My favorites still are 0079 and Zeta.

Gundam Wing was okay as it represented the last show of the 5 year anime cash-crunch. I like it for it's original story based politics and human idealism, but the show fails to attract that kind of audiance as the majority just want to see robots piloted by pretty boys. No matter how hard it tried (and I don't think the writers could have tried any harder) everyone who loves the show really don't try to understand the story and would rather just choose to get lost in the anime stereotypes of the show. It tried as hard it could, but ended up another character fanbased show to slot next to Evangelion and Yu Yu Hakusho.

I wouldn't say Gundam Wing was original, since the plot basically follows 0079 through CCA. But that's what I liked about the series; they summed up the central UC conflict succinctly.

the weal SD Gundam IS great, its funny as hell, as long as you know the UC storyline.

but my favorite suit from wing was Epyon, it seemed to have a dark version of the ZERO system in it, cuz it drove Hiro and Zechs mad.

Yeah that was a great MS. I liked that heat chain or whatever it was. It reminded me of the Gouf in 0079.

It has to be the best anime I ever seen. There is more to the story than the series and movie. There was mangas explaining the pilots' pasts. Like did you know Wufei had a wife and her nickname was Nataku.

Heck yeah they should it back on Toonami! It's a zillion times greater than that poor excuse for a Gundam series they have on now.

I'd also enjoy it uncut on Adult Swim...
