"also will Frankenstime be an acid trip kind of show such as Tim and Eric?"
Gosh I hope not. That's the whole reason I liked Moral Orel, it wasn't like all the other stuff on Adult Swim.

Wow, I sure should have checked the boards alot sooner! I wasn't anticipating a reply- but golly~!
Anyways, first off, I appreciate all the feedback you've given and even the script summaries of the episodes that were not produced. Absolutely fascinating, it is a shame they never got produced. I am still holding out hope for the movie, if you ever feel like doing that. Moral Orel was an incredibly rich, dark, mature, enlightening, beautiful, yet terrible (More in the sense of self-hell the citizens of Moralton lived in), amazing show. It has taught me so much and I will always have a place in my heart for those characters. When I began watching season three, admittedly I was confused- yet intrigued, I watched anticipating what would happen next, where it was coming from and what it was leading up to. I was at the edge of my seat for every episode, I laughed, I cried, I gasped in awe and I smirked at the use of cleverness. I think finally I understand in full circle what the journey was about and what a glorious evolution it was. I'm not honestly sure there is a question (which now I feel would be far too late.) I could ask that hasn't already.
I suppose one thing I was curious on, was just how Stopframe met or became intrigued with Clay in the first place?
While that is a question that likely wouldn't need to be answered, it is something I was curious on.There are many others I could ask but I felt you've covered most quite well.
Anyways Frakentimes seems very interesting, I have high hopes for it and I look forward to the personalities you develope for that show. Knowing a sort of 'human element' will still be there, while still being 'very very very funny' is probably the best news I've heard since I heard the show got canceled.
I am really grateful Dino, for stopping by and talking to the fans and answering so many questions and being such a great inspiration. I wish you well on your future endevours.

ok so i know these might have been asked before, but i have been wanting to know for so long
1) Does Clay really love Orel? or is he just too wrapped up in his own self pity that he can't even begin to care about someone else beyond his own self-satisfaction?
and (sorry i had to ask this one too)
About Doughy's parents, what inspired you to make them the way you did, i mean, how they ARE parents and yet still (literally) are teenagers, is there some special kind of meaning behind that?
thanks
oh and just one more thing (jeez). Are those cancelled shirts available anywhere? or are you just the BA who has the only one?
and on a side note, i would like to add, that i respect you a lot for making this series, i mean, i really loved how well it touched the reality that is peoples lives, and their own inner demons. Not to say you mean to give this impression off, but i just get the feeling that when you created these characters, you knew them, in a weird kinda way where a guy knows his dolls... ANYWAY you gave the amzing ability to give just about everyone the feeling that they can firsthand understand the situation in every scenario, its truely amazing, thank you for making this show so real and touching.

The way I saw it, they were the same age as Stephanie, and she's likely 21-25, give or take a few years, so they could have had him in highschool (or perhaps even earlier)...
I always chalked it (their attitudes) up to them never growing up because they were "privelaged rich kids" who didn't need to be concerned with the responsibility of rasing a child.
I'd like to hear an "expert opinion" myself, though... What I've said is just speculation...

well yea, I've gathered that much information from really just observing the situation, but my question was, where he was inspired to create those characters like that, or if they were a metaphor for something greater such as 'people are starting lives earlier than they are ready too'
given that was a really crappy analogy of the matter, but I was just trying to make a point.

More Moral Orel questions for Dino:
1)When Clay kept getting his dad to hit him in Passing did he take the abuse as validation of his excistence or affection?
2)When Clay spanks Orel is it for parenting or is that his way of showing him affection?
3)When did Clay start being the mayor of Moralton?
4)How long was Stopframe infatuated with Clay?
5)Ms. Scultham(sp?) had a grandfather who looked like Mr. Creepler any relation there?
6)Nurse Bendy said she dyes her hair, does Coach Stopframe dye his hair blonde too?
Oh yeah almost forgot, I'm 19.

A couple more questioned for Dino:
1) When Mr. Creepler raped Ms. Scultham did his feelings for Doughy have anything to do with his actions? Did the rape take place after "Courtship"?
2)Who in the series most represents you as a person? A lot of people think it's Clay, but I think you aren't that bad of a parent or alcoholic, but you and Adsit might have an underlying gay lust for each other so you could be clay. The last part was a joke... kinda.
3) Where do you think the series would have gone to if you were able to create "Moralton"?
4) Why do you think drinking and writing go hand in hand? I'm trying to write lately and I've been drinking way more often than before, I think it's because you get an extra boost of confidence, what are your thoughts?
5) What's the official story on the late Mrs. Potterswheel?
6) Will Frankenstime have a cohesive story with character development behind it like Moral Orel had?
7) Can you please post up the "Raped" script again. I missed it the first time and have hated myself almost as much as Clay does since.
8) How much credit do you think should go to ShadowMachine for "Moral Orel" ? I know you're scripts played a big role, but they were the ones logging in the man hours it took to create your vision.
9) Are you drunk right now?
10) Not a question but I want to thank you again for creating my favorite show. I think the only show with more potential would have been "Moralton".
11) Have you thought of another question to ask your fans?

I have no idea if this thread is open but I might as well ask.
The inspiration for "The Lord's Prayer" and "Closeface" exactly where did it come from? In my opinion Christina and Orel are by far the most amazing couple I have ever seen.

in response to your question, dino, twenty years young.
my question for you is, how do i get a leg up in the industry? (specifically comedy writing and directing). the reason i ask you is the timeworn methods of spec and shmooze don't particularily get me where i want to go nowandays. internships and assistant opportunities flow like water on, say, "everybody loves raymond", but this is the kind of entertainment i want to avoid. shows that are "written by their audience". and going from there just means hopping along to another show geared primarily at an executive's paycheck until you lay lame dog to die as editor of some lameass sitcom. is there another resource available to me to get somewhere?
and congratulations on making a show that stirs up such deep resentment from at least a (vocal) few, made entirely of plastic.

I only registered on these boards about a week ago, and have been reading up on past posts. Makes me a little angry in myself that I waited so long, looks like the boss man isnt posting here anymore. Lame. So I'll just say, I'm a 27 year old male (for the age question, other people were answering it), honestly I didn't care for the series until probably when I saw the episode "Courtship" featuring Doughy's home life. I guess that's when I started seeing a bit of realism entering the show. If I want to see whacky shock-value humor...well there's about 100 shows on cable that I can catch. I enjoy stupid humor and all, but it's a pleasant surprise when you glean a little depth in a show presented as a "cartoon". Season 3 really kind of hit home, because like many people, I was raised religious. Jehovah Witness. Beat that *waits for a Mormon to pop up*. No? K. Season 3 shows just how stereotypical the people who wholeheartedly buy into organized religion are...and I recognize alot of the traits, to the point where it's wiggy. Granted they didn't shoot their kids in the leg, or wreck their genitals with powertools...but still. Overall I thought it was clever and home-hitting for those raised in religion. Which might be why it didn't have a bigger following...either people are too busy bible pushing, or find it offensive to joke about "the faith". Just a maybe. I'm not against religion or God, but I'm completely against the idea of the God organized religion is worshipping. There's no way s/he can be such a huge collosal ** Yo Jo e! ** . Eternal hell for mortal sin? God cares what rating of movies I watch? What, no pork??
My point? I dunno. I liked this show once it caught it's stride. I would love to see more of it, be it DVD release, or movie release. I'm going out to buy the DVD's now just in hopes to see all 3 seasons released, and hopefully maybe a couple more.
Also thank you Dino for coming here and answering so many questions. It's why I don't really have one, at least a good one. You're straight up bada$s for answering so many questions so candidly. Mainly I wanted to say thanks for the show, reguardless of whether we see anything else. So thanks. It was awesome. Because of this show I will do my best to follow your work. You seem like a very talented person. Maybe it's the booze. It's like your super-serum?
And if I had to ask a question that I want you to answer it'd be:
Dude, can you give me a job?

I'm new on the boards myself. I took time to register and post because the show has really grown on me. At first I was put off by the show when it came on originally, but over the years of watching it while bored I've become quite fond of it now.
Anyway, I got curious about the location of Moralton and decided to take a screen cap of the opening map to compare to a real map of the US. After some crafty photo-shop masking/editing, I found it looks like Moralton lands pretty much right on Ottowa Kansas. Was this purely accidental, or was there any real thought put into the location of Moralton?

Interesting, I've always imagined it was Independence, MO - only about 60 miles off from your find
