I only just now discovered Moral Orel.

And it pisses me off that AS ended the show prematurely. I may have only seen five or six random episodes so far (Since Frankenhole went on schedule.) And it's one of the funniest, most intelligent shows I've ever seen.

This is kind of a waste of a topic, huh?

I was a bit prejudiced against the show when it premired, not having given it a real chance at a full episode. I finally began to warm up to it between the first and second season.

It took my friend until after the show was cancelled to take hold of it. Aside from his hesitation, we had known just how much quality the show was, we both would have grasped it much quicker. To this day, it's the only [as] original that still grasps us both. It's a gem, it is. It'll have to settle for being a near-cult hit.

I think that's true of a lot of people, I can't believe they yanked it from the schedule again. It needs more airtime :smileysad:

I recently became pretty interested in this show and I loved it so much, I ended up going through the whole run in about 4 days. I love it, it is definately one of the best animated television shows of all time. The first season is hilarious religious satire and the transition to season 2 was even funnier than the first season and many of the characters really fleshed out (including one of my favourites, Reverend Putty). Season 3 is absolutely perfect, almost to the point where I find it hard to watch. I think the show really hits me hard and close later on and the story that builds near the end of the show's run is so intricate and detailed that I catch something new every time I watch.

I'm sad the show ended so soon (there were plenty of interesting ideas they had still pitched) but the ending it ended up with was satisfying for the most part (although I think Clay and Bloberta could have been further episodes on their relationship, whether it falls apart like originally or remains like it is suggested). It's a shame the fanbase seems to have dwindled down but I'm glad there are some people who are still interested in this show.

Also, The Mountain Goats are so great.

Things were cool and collected till she found him erected with another...s*** went bad/ he's on the roof agian/ she dips, he flips/ the bird and then he went to the roof/ where his voice rang loud and clear: gonna jump/ gonna jump/ gonna die this year.

Just curious, how long have you been watching Swim?

I remember when it came out. Some of the episodes were kind of funny, others were mixed.

I think Moral Orel was created and aired when I stopped watching TV, after I came back, I think I saw the last season where it had these specials, with the creators talking about the episodes.

I only recently got into the show though, I like it's witty mockery of Christianity.

I wish I gave MO a chance when it first came out. Too bad I waited such a long time to finally gave the show a chance. I don't know what made me not to want to watch it in the first place. Maybe the religious themes? Regardless, it really is a hit with me. Really wish there was a third season, but oh well...I'm just glad it's still on the air.  :smileyhappy:

Well, there is a third season... but it takes an extreme left turn into darkness (starting with the last two episodes of season 2) and it was shortened to 13 episodes "to protect Orel." It was kind of shocking at first but it's what made it great.

Darkness begins this Thursday... don't let it scare you. It's well worth it :smileywink:

Not a Waste at all , I agree with you on Morel Orel being ending on a prematurely way ... it was brilliant & dark , deep  .... glad you caught on it , for some it takes a while to have a moment to really get the gist of it - but you become a fan instantly as continue to watch each ep.

I loved it the first time I saw it!
It is very amusing
The one I was Egh! about was Team America, by the creators of South Park. The puppets were freaking me the f*ck out, but I actually liked it after I got past the lifeless eyes that spoke... I think.
