There are some people who are more creative. But you have to work at it. I was never creative, but when I really sat down and worked at it I could turn out some great stuff for classes.

EDIT i had more to say
I've always enjoyed comedy. Any form of it. I really think if i set my mind to it, and get a degree in english or creative writing, that i might be able to write something awesome. Im just not sure if im on the right path.

Whats up Dino

Question: South Park started out extremely funny and witty. It lived within its boarders of the town but eventually the show turned into Matt and Trey's political view on everything. Which in some respects is ok but it comes off as extremely preechy. The original warm center was lost as the seasons of the show progressed.

So how do you intend to not let this show lose its original luster and keep it fresh without making it a personal soap box of which to stand on?

I have a question :

When did you come up with the idea with Morel Orel? I think the show is good :smileyhappy:

Also, I heard from a lot of people ( This being outside the Message Board of course ) That you were involved in Aqua Teen Hunger Force? ( I would like to know : ))

About Orel's Teacher, what exactly is with her? She wears a really wierd ensemble that looks like something an evil horse-jockey would wear.

Tell me? is it true that Moral Orel is really making fun of a crappy christian claymation show called "David and Goliath" or something similar?

Hey, Dino

Got another question.

In the upcoming season(s), are the people of Moralton going to be exposed to cultures and/or religions different from their own?

I think it'll be interesting to see what will happen when a black, Asian, Middle Eastern family or any other ethnicity or nationality move into town. Also, if people of Hindu, Buddhist (sp), Judism, or some other faith come to the area as well. Even if they are just passing through town.

Dino,

I agree whole heartedly with, what I know about, your views on religion as a whole. What kind of world would it be with no one asking questions? and if one thing should be questioned shouldn't it be the silly traditions shoved in childrens faces? But those aren't the questions I seek an answer too. What I really would like to know is if there is any advice you can give to a now broke but up&coming animator? How-tos? Inside tips? Looking for interns with no morals?

Hey Dino,

First off, let me say that I attended the signing and panel at Comic-Con and I was seriously inspired by both. Makes me want to build a 4th website. :smileyvery-happy:

I'm not really that good with asking questions... i'll just say whatever comes to mind:

Is there any way to get [as] to put MO on at a time before midnight? I can't speak for everyone, but for me it's hard to concentrate on such a good show that late at night.

Do you have any independent inspirations when making Moral Orel? (i.e.: anything done by Don Hertzfeld, Mike Judge, John K., Bill Plympton, etc.)

Thanks man

Greetings, I bow to, what I see as, your enormous comedic talents. I'm huge fan of your work on Mr. Show (I think my favorite sketch comedy show) and I absolutely love Moral Orel, and have since the depressingly hilarious Chirstmas episode. And I think, having read this thread and your previous appearance on the boards (which really impressed me), I'm even more of a fan; I admire a creator so dedicated to his work to subject himself to this place and who seems to generally care about the questions and comments of his audience. My question, how involved are you in the animating process? I love all of the little details in the series, like the jar of "Sinning Cream" and the posters on the classroom wall, and wondered how much of those details are from you and how much the other people involved in the animation contribute?

Dino, when I first saw the show, I was overjoyed by how depressing it was. The Christmas special told a lot of truth for me. Most people get depressed around the holidays, so it made perfect sense to have the Christmas special be so aweful. I wanted to thank you for doing things that other writers wouldn't dare do.

I'm currently in a "History of Religions" class at my high school. Have you taken a lot of different classes about religion? What makes you so bitter toward the way people treat religion. I feel that way, too, but was raised sort of agnostically. Were you raised religious? What do/would your parents think of Morel Orel?

Did your parents spank you when you did things wrong?

If there were no channel like [adult swim] where would you have gone to with the idea for this show? Or did someone bring the idea to you?

Why did you show up at the Con drunk? Did you think you may lose a lot of fans after that? After watching the videos, I wasn't sure I liked you anymore. Of course, after reading this thread I like you again. So don't worry about that. We're still friends.

Who is your favorite charactor in Moralton? I like Shapey. He's so freaking stupid, in a cute way.

Do you go to church? Or can you not find a church that isn't corrupted? I sure can't.

Sorry for asking so much, but I really love the show and want to know as much as I can about it.

Thank you!

Hey dinosta! I love that screen name! First and foremost, I love the show! Insert all available complements here. I know you're probably getting sick of hearing the same thing over and over again. So I hope this isn't too much like any other questions...
I'd like to say that I agree with what you said about live-action TV vs. animation. And you mentioned The Simpsons a few other times too as kind of an icon of adult cartoons. Are there any other cartoons or comic books (adult or otherwise) that inspire you or that you just really like? Were you much of a cartoon or comic book kid or didn't you watch much TV back then either? Oh, and so I don't ask a question from your interview, is there a link to it? In the archives or something? Let me know. I don't remember the whole thing anyway.
Thank you! And keep up the great work!

Hi, I asked if there were any cartoons (other than The Simpsons) or comics that inspire you on the page before. I just wanted to clarify that I know about Davey and Goliath and the whole stop-motion animation inspirations (See? I did find the interview!).
Basically what I mean is, do you (did you) like any cartoons/comics? Do any inspire some of your writing? Do any just inspire you to be better than they are? Or just different?
Also, you mentioned that you hate parodies. What else do you (or don't you) like? Would Moral Orel be a satire? What would you call it?
OK, OK! No more questions for now. I'll let you breath.

Why does Moral have a foam hand on in one of the intros, Waste or Intros. The "God is #1" was funny, but I wish there was something different in every intro, unless there is.
Stay up late and watch Adult Swim all night...
