I was just about to link to this. All Orel fans should read it. It gives a good perspective on the show and why it isn't continuing past this (truncated) season.

That's going in my sig. Thanks for the link, floating now.

Moral Orel and Pushing Daisies are both cancelled.
I love King of the Hill, but i don't know if it fits [as]. Better than Family Guy again, though.
Atleast i can look forward to anothr season of Xavier and Squidbillies.

Man.  I'm happy for Adult Swim for supporting animation for adults, and I'm grateful for the many excellent shows they've brought us, but it really stinks that they have such a low opinion of their audience that as soon as a show starts being something more than just flippant wackiness, it must be too deep for us.  It'd be one thing if the ratings responded poorly to this change in tone, but for them to preemptively pull the plug...  hhhh.  The mainstream American world of animation still has a long way to go.  It's sad to see trailblazers like Adult Swim deciding to slow down their pace.

I read the interview, interesting indeed. I am appreciative of the work the studio did, all invovled. I feel it is a shame things ended the way they did with Adist, or things got taken to heart too much and he ended up quiting because of a dispute with his family? Again a real shame since he contributed to the show and did the voice of one of the best characters on it.

Actually, I thought the interview implied that he went back to work on the show after he and his sister decided not to talk about it anymore.

Edit: this really makes me angry. IS this the only show with substance and meaning? Was it cancelled because there weren't any "you'd have to be stoned to like this" scenes? I watched "dumb" today stone-cold sober and enjoyed the hell out of it. Now that i think about it, it IS the only show that doesn't have those "stoned" moments, but what's so bad about that? Is Moral Orel really hated by the "insomniac stoner" demographic so much that it can't stay on? I think you need to justify youself on these boards LAZ>:smileyindifferent:

So Lazzo really canceled it because it was too depressing? I thought it was due to ratings or something. [as] in general does a good enough job of upholding standards of innovation and humor, but they really failed this time, hopefully not a sign of things to come. Also it seems kind of like Moral Orel has gained popularity since the announcement of its cancellation, how can airing the show be anything but beneficial to [as]? I just don't get it, and even Lazzo said he loved the show.

This only confirms my theory that Williams Street, Adult Swim, whatever this entity calls itself, has nothing but animosity towards its audience. Lazzo needs psychological evaluation.

My insomnia is [adult swim] induced... and I'm allergic to smoke :smileytongue: :smileysad: but I've been here since day one, with no plans of leaving. I love this show and I think it's getting better all the time. I hate that it's ending. It would've been nice to have the extensive character development spread out across some lighter moments - which may in part account for the way they've chosen to air the new episodes interspersed with the old.

Well look at the top rated shows; Family Guy, Robot Chicken. Woo.

Also, look at their treatment of other shows; Lucy gets put on hold for months and told that it needs to drop the parody episodes that require more thought and must focus on the sitcom ideals, Venture was put on hold forever between first and second season, Home Movies and Mission Hill have both been cancelled, etc, and now Moral Orel as soon as it starts to branch away from the silliness of first season. Depressing, really.
Potentially best show ever? You decide!

Moral Orel is the best thing happening for Adult Swim. If Adult Swim Sticks to there guns and cans the show I am going to all together stop watching any adult swim. (unless their new show, which is in the makes, "Frankeintimes" gets signed.) The Creative Staff behind Moral Orel is solid and awesome. I would watch anything that they came out with. Apparently a lot of you think otherwise. I was at a comic convention today and talked to the creators. They said that they are getting the boot because the show is too sad and serious, and that there will be no more DVD releases because none of you suppose fans bought the first DVD. I encourage everyone out there who enjoys Moral Orel to go buy the DVD now. Even if the show doesn't get put back on at least go buy the ** Jinkies ** DVD so us true fans can have a chance to purchase future Orel based DVD's.

And Dino if you by chance read this I AM NOT GAY, even though you signed an autograph telling my girlfriend that you thought I was.

Listen, some of us are stupid and slow. I just bought the DVD. Will the DVDs save Orel like they did Family Guy? Maybe.
