Moral Orel

Im sorry to inform you all that the upcoming third season of Moral Orel will be the last season since it's not going to be renewed for a fourth one.

This was said by creator Dino Stamatopoulos at the TV Funhouse pannel at the San Diego Comic Con. Here's the link.

Wow, a cancellation. So it isn't even a creative choice.

This....is sad.

From how season 2 went, i thought the show would carry on for much longer. Perhaps this third season is really poor? What other reason could there be?

You know what,...i think i know what's up. 

I think the folks at [adult swim] said, "ya know, we gave this show a shot, but WE NEED EMMYS!" Robot Chicken and Moral Orel are both animated by the same company right? So, hey one of the shows is getting critics' attention, the other is getting mostly hate mail. I mean, [as] knows a good show and that's why this one got 3 seasons. But they need to focus on what's winning them more audience and that's that.

That really HA HA HA HA! It was tied with VB as my favoriteshow. I guess it's just another show that was too good for [as]. I'm sure it wasn't renewed so they could make way for something HA HA HA HAty like they do with all good shows.

WTF?! This is total B.S.! 

I really can't understand how this decision was made... Maybe if season 3 had already started airing and was doing poor ratings, i would understand. But to cancel the show before the new season airs? And even worse to cancel it before the season is even done... [as] said they wanted another 20 eps, what the crap happened? Are they running out of money or something? I just can't understand why if they had already ordered the next season, they would reverse their decision...

I am angry and confused and frustrated...

Well the show doesn't have enough recycled humor and happy fun topics. I watched the show like 3 times and I was reall offended as a person of faith and it made me sad. :real trailerparkboys flies through the air with battle axe and splits hipster puss in half:

This is very sad news. I wonder how they're going to handle putting the rest of the series out on DVD. (There's 15 episodes left over from season two, plus the 13 from the new season.) I say a three-disc blow-out like the kind Tom Goes to the Mayor got would not be inappropriate.

To be honest, I dont see how they could have continued the show much longer.  Dont get me wrong - I love the show.  But they were going to hit every topic avaiable to them sooner than later.  To continue much longer would have meant a change in the direction of the show.  I knew it would come, the show was so topical, there is a limit to what they can do with it.  I am sad to hear that they were not able to finish the show in a way they would have wanted.

In the second season it became alot more focused on the characters than the topic most episodes, which is alot of else felt it could have had a few more great seasons atleast.

I'll be very sorry to see it end. I found it so entertaining and, in many ways, enlightening. Dino seems like the kind of guy you'd meet after work for a beer just to chat, and then find yourself talking with him six or seven hours later without realizing how fast the time had slipped by.

Season 3 starts in October? I'll be there.

why couldnt they cancel assymcgee or some of tim and erics shows instead, at least moral oral was actually good and creative.

dino did have a thread here that he came in and talked with the fans, you should do a search for it, it was pretty interesting.

I don't usually come on here, and rarely say anything when I do, not very social. But this is the first time I've actually gotten really pissed with [as]. I know that 99% of the awesomely cool people there had nothing to do with this, as usual, it always comes down to the 3-4 people high up who make such decisions, so no offense intended to those who are blameless. But there is a serious e*f*f*i*n*g offense intended to those responsible. Could it have been a ratings decision? Love to see Orels' ratings compared to some of the B*U*L*L*S*H*!*T* that's gotten picked up or renewed (I'm looking at you, Tim & Eric). But I will reserve the rest of the many derogatory remarks I have to fling like so much fecal matter in their direction until I see the third season. If it completley jumps the shark, and loses its charm and humour (not saying I wouldn't appreciate it if it were dark, seeing how season 2 ended), MAYBE there was some justification.

If the show continues to be one of the best written shows on [as] through this season,  though, and still doesn't get renewed, and either Tim & Eric or Fat Guy Stuck in Internet also gets renewed for another season, I will no longer point out the [as] channel & timeslot to those who give blank looks when I start to talk about their shows, willl no longer buy Williams Street DVD's, and will steal from newsgroups the few shows I still look forward to on [as] (sadly only Venture Bros., Squidbillies, Orel, Metalocalypse, Home Movies and Aqua Teen remain on that list, though Aqua Teen may not be on there too much longer), and NEVER turn the channel to Cartoon Network again. I will instead support the creators of the shows I love however possible when I see them at conventions.

 

Aside from all else, THANK YOU DINO, and EVERYONE else who makes Orel, for giving us such a great show. I still show "Overcoming Bowel Movements according to God's Plan" to my and all my relative's kids, and I'm glad to show them Orel as well. Very educational.
