"Numb" ... again...

I hate that it's been so long since I've seen this episode. I guess one nice thing is that I wasn't shocked by the darkness of the episode this time around and it was easier to see the humor. (Nohammer's, "cylindrical ... um.." :smileyvery-happy: ) Seriously though, I remembered it was good but the details had faded - I'm still shocked that the Mountain Goats song "No Children" wasn't specifically written for this show. It's just too perfect. The characters become multidimensional and real in this episode (in combination with "Nature 1&2") and you really start to care about them ~ or hate them as the case may be. Heart wrenching and beautiful with a dash of laughs, yet it's just the beginning...

I really wish the interactive video of Dino's commentary was still available. Bloberta with the Doctor's handkerchief was a challenge that was well executed as was Clay's walk through the house at the end without edit... Both scenes I might have taken for granted had he not taken the time to point them out. This one is worth watching again and again.

Really bummed out that I missed the episode, even though I couldn't wait to see it when I found out AS brought it back.

Drat, you've missed it in the video section, too. According to the *paper* schedule they're running the series again, it only goes to Dec. 4 though. That only gets us to episode 11. I just hope the ratings really have been good enough to keep it around for another full run.

Dunno 'bout anyone else, but i've been on the edge of _my_ couch thru each episode.

I agree w/ the prev comments about the camera-work in "Numb".  Top-quality stuff!  If I even _tried_ to do something that delicate, I'd go **beast**!  I don't know how D.S. & Crew managed it (Frankenhole, likewise).

In the episode "Alone", I also agree about the sub-text in Nurse Bendy's scenes at home.  The character is clearly doing her best to keep herself grounded.  She fantasizes about a stable home and a real family (and knows its a fantasy).  But she is stuck with just the fantasy 'cause no-one else takes her seriously.  At least 'til the end when she re-connects w/ Joe, her son.  Top-notch writing to go with top-notch filming.  Something rarely seen in the deserts of American TV.

No wonder most good American TV shows (with a few exceptions) were lifted from _British_ TV!  Or just imported outright!

[ Monty Python & Doctor Who Rule, OK?!! ]

I'm looking forward to the RE-RE-RUN (hope!) of Moral Orel _in_full_ ( hope! hope! hope! ).  I'd miss my nightly Orel-fixation!

'BYE

Numb is so sad. I can't watch it distracted. I just have a hard time breaking attention away from it.

It makes the fifteen minutes seem like an hour.

I'll never forget the blood on her thighs. I still shiver to this day.

It's such a deep episode. I'm beyond words.
