Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit

I'm just curious as to your thoughts on whether or not [as] will give Moribito a second run. Considering that it flopped in the ratings, and was not well received among the anime fans, I doubt it will get a second run. Especially considering the fate that has befallen Blood+, which never got a full second run.

I think there's at least a chance of one somewhere down the line. Blood+ likely would have received a full second run if [as] hadn't suddenly figured out that they were losing the rights to it at the end of this year, and Moribito has the benefit of being only half its length. Plus, with the recent show expirations, and no new premieres on the immediate horizon, it's not like there wouldn't be room for it on the block in the future. You never know, right?

Ordinarily I'd agree, but Moribito is a long way into its contract already. Let's not forget that Moribito was acquired for [as] all the way back in 2007. I doubt the contract extends beyond 2010. Still, that would be time enough for another run. Maybe after Bebop finishes its double episodes run in the Spring?

That's right; I'd forgotten about how the ridiculous contract situation might affect things. But as you said, there's still time, if [as] feels like doing it.

If the ratings for Moribito were so poor, then AS will probably run it about a dozen times.

I liked Moribito, but I don't know if I would sit through a second airing.  It's not like it had a complex plot that you have to see over and over to get the full story.

The real question is whether [as] fulfilled its contractual obligation with Moribito. In some of these contracts, it states the minimum times a show must be run in its entirety.  And considering the circumstances surrounding Moribito's contract, [as] might not have to run it again.

Yes it probably will, but later in the night between 3 and 5.

I don't think it was that bad. I has a good storyline, and well drawing. It maybe boring too some. But at least it was something new.

Well, once the Death-Note-A-Thon ends, we've got Bleach from 12:30-1:30, FMA from 1:30-2:30, Cowboy Bebop from 2:30-3:30, and GITS from 3:30-4:30.

I can't really see Moribito replacing GITS anytime soon.  I also seriously doubt they'd try it after FMA, but MAYBE it will get a run in Cowboy Bebop's new timeslot in about 13 weeks when Bebop's current run ends.  Then again, a double shot of Moribito would work pretty well right before InuYasha if they move Big O up to after Bebop or GITS

Then again, that schedule's pretty much subject to change without rhyme or reason at any time, and the only sure thing is Bleach 12:30-1:30.

So they are doubling up everything, eh?  Personally, I could do without FMA as that has been rerun to death and I am tired of watching it.  Although, there's probably plenty of new viewers keeping it there, or people that just haven't grown sick of it. They did put it ahead of the last of the Moribito premieres after all.  Everyone keep their eyes peeled on the schedule for the remote chance of Moribito returning!

Remote, but maybe there's a chance.  I saw eps 11-13 subbed online before Moribito came back to [as]; without a TV, however, I haven't seen anymore.  I really hope they double up eps in Cowboy Bebop's slot once that ends, as that's not too late for this geezer.  13 weeks of doubling up should be enough to finish it in 2010.

When i first saw this show i thought it was reallly cool then they removed it and i was sad then i saw Code geass it was Great i love those shows iim so glad they re put it up and glad about two FMA and Two Cowboy bebop episodes  its awesome

While I'd love to see it (I love the kind of historical/cultural perspective it and others like Kenshin provide IF you wanna pay attention to that stuff), given its late night slot and the general ratings info I've seen on it, I'd have to doubt it...

But while I also doubt AS would pick any of such up, I wonder if any of the other stories in the Guardian series will get animated in the near future. I dunno how this one did in Japan, but given how influential and culturally engrained the books have supposedly been over there, I wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility...

Wow, considering the state of this folder, I doubt we'll ever see Moribito again.
