Folder has nothing to do with show's popularity.  Just because the insular community of ASMB doesn't like to discuss it doesn't mean it isn't a well-liked program.  Not the best metric, guy.

Have you seen how dead the Titan Maximum folder is?  It's like... BEYOND dead.  But that show got the best ratings next to Family Guy.

Anyway, AS can go fuck themselves as far as I care, because I have the DVDs now.  But, it is a great series that deserves replay.  But yeah, we've probably seen the last of Moribito, and Code Geass too, for that matter.

[as] usually does 3-year licensing agreements on anime, right? If that's the case with Moribito, then they'd have way more than enough time to run it at one episode a week when, say, CB finishes its run. Or, gasp, they could give Big O a break at the end of its run and put Moribito there if they don't think that they want it in CB's slot.

We know they aren't going to get rid of those (P.J.s, maybe), it's probably more of an issue with those being pricey shows and lots of legal restrictions going on, not to mention, they have a lot of pop culture references in them which might delve into a whole other layer, and so they say no to make sure.  But, can you imagine the possibilities of Robot Chicken custom icons?!  I could be just about any Transformer I want, among other things! :smileysurprised:

But I digress, Moribito, obviously, is a different situation.  Why allow them before but disallow them now?  Hmmmmm?

I can't even watch Big O anymore, especially since they don't even show the first season anymore... -__-

Even if Moribito is on a three year deal, there isn't enough time. Moribito debuted nearly a full year after its TV license was awarded (the TV deal was originally negotiated with Geneon USA, which ceased most business operations in November of 2007). That existing contract then transferred to Media Blasters (which was a stated reason for why they went for the license rescue in the first place), and the show aired on Adult Swim under the terms of the original agreement, at least as near as can be told from publicly available information.

So even if it's on a three year deal, there may very well be only 6 months or less left on its contract. And I must stress the "or less" part, since the show was also fully dubbed for television before Geneon folded. :smileyvery-happy:

And now Bebop has two slots. Is 13 weeks unmanageable? Yes, it's a whole quarter, but if they want to do it, they could.

It will never happen. Let's face facts, Moribito was a ratings bomb, and [as] is not going to put it back on for the 8,000 people or so that actually watched it. They pull more ratings with Cowboy Bebop, Big O, and hell even Bleach reruns. So it's safe to say it's not coming back. [as] will cut their losses with it and hopefully get something that the broader fanbase will actually want to watch.

While I'll admit that Moribito was a pretty big bomb in the ratings, I think they're doing it a great disservice if it never gets a 2nd run, and hitting a terrible new low for anime in general (albeit one that will obviously not be repeated since FMA:B is fairly strong and Kekkaishi will draw on its strength and that of Bleach).  Sure, 9 of the last 10 episodes of Code Geass R2 only got played one time on [as], but at least they got web coverage.  That's not true of Moribito.  ALL of the last 16 episodes have only been played one time so far and they could easily be blown out in an 8-week run.  Or the whole series in a 13-week run.  They just have to be willing to put Bebop or GITS on the shelf or marginalize them to 1 episode a week for a while at 2 and 2:30 A.M., respectively.  A second run of Moribito at 3 A.M. this summer before encores of FMA:B and Kekkaishi--that's fair, right?

This Saturday Night, on [adult swim]: TOONAMI'S BACK, BlTCHES!! A New Bleach Episode (255) kicks us off at Midnight, followed by the SERIES PREMIERES of Deadman Wonderland at 12:30 and Casshern Sins at 1! Then, we've got 3 back-to-back classics: FMA:B Episode 32 "Fuhrer's Son" at 1:30, followed by GITS: 2nd Gig Episode 17 "Red Data" at 2 and Cowboy Bebop Episode 15 "My Funny Valentine" at 2:30! Also, watch lots of [as] ACTN shows including Durarara!!, The Big O, and more online any time you want at http://video.adultswim.com/action/index.html

I'd say that's more than fair. I just want to see it again, before they lose the rights.

I love Bebop and Gits, and can usually watch reruns without a problem...but they really need a rest. Its not like [as] has a lot of anime to fill those slots with.

I already have the DVD set... so, I can watch it whenever I want.  Still, I would have liked it if more people could discover this show, and I totally agree with your idea.  Also, I wouldn't mind seeing it on AS again.

I only have the first ten eps. Everytime I see the complete box set, I'm like...but I have the first ten. I only need the others. If I can find those...everywhere I look, it's cheaper to just buy the box set. Probably will break down and buy it one of these days...once I finally get over this little annoyance.

May as well.  I mean, 30 bucks for the whole series is obviously worth it.  I thought they might do something like this, that's why I didn't buy that other set with the first ten or whatever. :smileytongue:
