Moribito of DVD, now I can watch this without tuning into [as] on Saturday. 5.1 surround sound is a nice touch too. It only goes to episode 7, but I can't complain.

I watched the first four episodes again. It was totally awesome. Moribito is one of those shows that no matter how many times you watch it you're still amazed. There is stuff you still don't catch even a second time watching them. Sort of like Samurai Champloo or Cowboy Bebop to name a few others.

It is Anime Works that is usually their style. Single releases followed by the box set release. I'll have to keep following the series as its released.

I kinda felt stupid for not following through with the [as] run, so, I still really didn't like it, of course, the only episode I saw the whole way through was episode one...

So, I went to Wal-Mart today, and they had a six-disc set with episodes 1-10 for twenty dollars, and I bought it. >.>

They're DVD-5s, single layered discs, so that's about as many episodes as they can fit on them without compromising the video quality.  Doing it this way for Wal-Mart, meaning cheaply as possible, is the only way Media Blasters could get them to carry the show on their shelves.  Apparently they wanted a lower price point than the 2 part sets they're selling elsewhere have, and single layered discs are much cheaper to produce than the standard dual layered ones, so this is how they had to do it.

Yeah, I read that on another thread.  Well then, so be it!  After all, it is comparable to iTunes pricing ($2 an episode), only with extras and far better quality!  But marathonning is much tougher when you have to switch out the DVD every 2 episodes!

I just bought Vol 1-5 and the artbox, and it's beautiful!  The dvds come in clear polystyrene keepcases (sort of like CD cases, but bigger), with an insert with production art sketches.  Haven't had a chance to watch them yet though.

I checked the web site and it now has the price listed at around fifty, but I'm going to check the store and see if it is different.  Plus, they don't even have a picture of the cover on the site.  Wish me luck!

Well, I got it!  It's still thirty dollars at Wal-Mart, folks!  But the special features make mention of a production art booklet.  Mine only had DVDs in it.  Is that supposed to be a feature on the DVDs or an actual booklet?
