Seirei no Moribito 26 Discussion: Departure

[ Edited ]

精霊の守り人

Seirei no Moribito

~Guardian of the Spirit~

 Episode 26 Discussion: Departure

At long last, Chagum approaches the Place of Celebration.  It appears to be a place that sits inbetween Sagu and Nayug as Chagum suddenly finds himself walking underwater in a lake rather than at the bottom of a cliff.

Elsewhere, Tanda gives Balsa and the Hunters the Sig Salua blossoms.  They accept knowing that they put their lives at at great risk after having fought the grotesque beast.  Balsa asks the Hunters about their orders.  Mon replies they are to give greater priority to saving Chagum rather than the Egg.   She agrees, saying it would be pointless if they did otherwise.

Torogai and Shuga catch up with Tanda, who is examining the coprse of the Rarunga. Tanda briefly explains the properties of the Sig Salua's nectar, and Torogai commends him for his discovery.  Suddenly, Tanda spots a bear cub possessing a Nayuga ro Im getting chased by a Rarunga. The three witness as the cub is devoured, spitting the Nayuga ro Im out only to see it splatter on the rocks.

Chagum arrives at Sannan in Nayug, swimming out of an ice lake.  The Rarunga follows him, but Balsa and the Hunters arrive in time.  The Hunters hold off while Balsa makes her way to Chagum.  More Rarunga appear, dispelling any notion that it was a legendary creature, but a species native to Nayug.  The two reunite, and Chagum cries in Balsa's arms, feeling he'd know Balsa would come to him. The Rarunga strikes once more, and the Hunters maintain their position.  In Sagu, Tanda continues to report what he sees in Nayug to Shuga and Torogai, who is bugged that her student is able to see the other world while she cannot.

Tanda arrives and leaves Balsa to do battle with the Rarunga with the Hunters.  He explains that he knows the spell to extract the egg, that an attempt made about 200 years ago was made and was almost successful.  While they hold them off, Tanda takes Chagum to safety so he can try to perform the removal spell.

Then, as the sun rises in Sagu, the Rarunga stand still, fading away to its rays.

Chagum is in pain, similar to that of undergoing birth.  Tanda and Balsa manage to extract the Nayuga ro Im from Chagum's body.  The Nahji Bird told in the legend, appears and takes the egg to safety.  The Imperial Army arrive, too late to do anything of importance, except make the return of the next heir to the throne all the more fitting.

Hurray, you got the thread!

I gotta say, it's a little sad that it's coming to an end so soon, but it was good while it lasted. :smileyhappy:

Very nice thread, Slik.  So 3:50 roundabouts is when it back up, eh?  I know they didn't do it for this reason, but I am so glad things got straightened away before the block tonight.  If we couldn't discuss the final episode of Moribito tonight that would just be a tragedy.

But, how did Meta edit that post at the time it says he did?  It isn't even that time yet!  HOW DOES ONE COME FROM THE FUTURE AND EDIT A POST?!

Thanks everyone, I wanted to make sure I got the thread, so as soon as I saw the boards unlock, I went right for it.

Oh, so that is what happened.  Yeah, that probably makes sense Alikatt.  Although, why does he have to be such a stealth helper?  I never see him post...

Oh, and since tonight is such a special occasion I decided to do something for it.  Check it my Balsa retro icon, ya'll.  It's like Moribito was part of the lineup back in the ole days, or somethin'.  You know, the gray background with inexplicable shadow. :smileyhappy:

I'm sure it will, all things considered up to this point.  What's sad is that it'll be the last time we'll get to hear SHINE on [as] for a long while.  :smileysad:

if they opened up right now or tomorrow i'll be using this teenage Balsa

i say right now or tomorrow cause the more time that passes the more likely i am to change my mind :smileyvery-happy:

So, is this anime any good?  It didn't really seem like my thing.

Congrats on the thread for the last episode of Moribito!

It makes me a sad Crau, though, now that this great anime is coming to an end. =(

Congrats on getting the finale snag! :smileyhappy:

Funny Story: When I logged on yesterday and saw that the boards were locked, I planned on using it to my advantage by making the thread immediately when it opened, while everyone else was still posting "OMG TEH BOREDZ R BAK". :smileyvery-happy: What I didn't guess was that it would still be locked; I waited until 1:30am. :smileyindifferent: Went to sleep, woke up and checked right when I woke up to see if it was back. That was around noon, so it was still locked. So I gave up, thinking the boards would be locked past Moribito's airing. Now I return to find that it opened a few hours after I last checked and that you got the thread! :smileyvery-happy::smileysad:

...did I say that was a funny story? I meant sad. :smileysad: (though it was funny for the rest of you)

What's even sadder though is that, because of the lockdown, Moribito's finale snag didn't get the attention it deserved. Remember Code Geass' finale? TEN threads for the last episode! But you get this one by default (sorta default). That's sad. :smileysad:

But enough of my mopiness(sp?). Let's enjoy the finale! :smileyhappy:

"I watch the world. The sun shines. Stars twinkle. Plants grow. Animals feel. And humans have souls. I watch the soul. The soul can hear the voice of God. Taste its sweet fragrance. Savor its words. Touch its outstretched fingertips. I watch the world. I watch the soul. I realize that the light guides my footsteps."

I wonder if there going to kill balsa because she is too powerful to be left alone. That would be logical for a threatened ruling class. Then again maybe they go cheap and skip ahead past balsa and everyone else till the next water spirit. AHHHHHHHH Can't wait to see what they do.

It's nothing short of amazing in terms of plot and character development.  The action is there to justify the develpments in both.

If you like a good story, go ahead; you'll probably enjoy it.

If you prefer flashy stuff, it's best if you look elsewhere.

Guys, I do not like this but DirecTV's guide shows episode 1 "Beginning a Journey", that is what it says...
