What we saw last night is not the real ending. This is what really happened:
Balsa: Tanga, now that everything is over with, I’ve been thinking. . . .
Tanga: (To himself) Now that Chagum is safe, Balsa is free to settle down.
Balsa: I decided that it is time for me to put away my spear.
Tanga: (To himself) I suppose I could suggest that she settle down with me.
Balsa: I want to settle down. I want a normal life.
Tanga: (To himself) Now is the time! I have to tell Balsa how I really feel. I have to tell her I love her.
Balsa: I want a family. I want children. I want a man I can grow old with.
Tanga: (To himself) Oh, who am I kidding? Balsa would just think it’s a joke. She’ll never settle down with me.
Balsa: Tanga, you are the one I want to be with . I want a life with you.
Tanga: (To himself) I’m just good ol’ Tanga. A dependable friend to turn to when you need patching up. After that, it’s just good-bye and see you later.
Balsa: Tanga! Are you listening to me?
Tanga: What? Oh, yeah. Sure. You’re right, Balsa. It is time for us to go our separate ways.
Balsa: Oh, screw it. I’ve had enough of this. I’m going to Konbal.
