Moribito is a nice shift from the usual genres shown on [as]. Plus, any anime is welcome in my book.

I'll admit I wasn't too into it at the beginning. But I've grown to love the characters and the plot over time. If you take time to understand the things being said, you might enjoy it a lot more.

On top of all that, I should mention that the last two episodes have been... CRAZY AS HELL!!! PANDEMONIUM 2009!!!

Yes, I think the people who don't like it must have short attentions spans and expecting nothing but nonstop action 24/7.  It is one of their best shows ever and a true classic, in my opinion, even if doesn't get any more or much more play by AS.  Not all Anime is created equal, folks.

Did you ever see his film Pearl Harbor?  Total crap!  Actually, I only saw the first half.  I thought I was getting the wartime d0cumentary directed by John Huston, but Netflix had the description screwed up.  I got the first half of Bay's movie.  Fortunately, the second half was nowhere to be seen.

Bay's movie was actually quite laughable.  As I recall, there are these two friends who are pilots.  One is in love with a girl, but they decide to wait until marrage for sex.  Both guys join the military to fly.  The one in love decides he can't wait for the war, so he quits the US military and joins up with the British.  His plane is shot down.  The girl is upset that her fiance is dead, so she sleeps with his friend.  The dead guy is not dead, and returns to find out his girl is no longer a virgin.  Then the Japanese attack.  That's all I saw.

Bay's movies should be illegal.

And by the way, moderators, quit f-cking with the filters again!

It may be sort of slow but it does have its moments and everything that is shown is there for a reason.  It's very plot-driven and character-centric, and has beautiful animation.  Although, the last few eps have been quite action-packed as it is nearing the climax. 

Yeah, it doesn't seem like something AS would pick up, and is quite different from what they usually show, but that makes it special in my opinion.  However, that also means that people used to AS' usual Anime fare just won't get into it, unfortunately. 

Although, it only has about two more weeks and then you won't have anything to complain about, jeesh.

To be honest, I'm surprised we haven't seen more complaints like this.  I said way back at the beginning that Moribito was too different from the usual AS series to be a hit with the fans.  My question is - if you find a show slow and boring, why would you stick with it for 24 episodes?  Yes, it is a deliberately paced and character driven series - that's what makes it a masterpiece, IMO.  I love Gurren-Lagann as much as anyone but a series like Moribito comes along so rarely, it really should be treasured when it does.

Eh.  I couldn't get past 2 episodes.  I don't have the tolerance most anime fans have anymore; if I don't like something early on, I'll stop watching....

Being what the internet seems to consider a "successful" anime series has pretty little to do with its performance on the block.


Moribito was mostly the victim of really poor circumstances, right from the very beginning (it took probably close to a year before Moribito even aired the first time from the point that [as] actually acquired it, and that's before all the other nonsense that went on with the series). Moribito is the sort of series that has absolutely no chance of succeeding without a great deal of help and support just due to its inherent nature, and not only did it not get that, but it got saddled with just about everything that could possibly go wrong with a show's broadcast.
