great question about producers. it really depends. it completely varies from production to production. in the case of NTSF (and fat guy), i was a writing/creative executive producer. that means i wrote dialogue, storylines, pitched ideas and worked with the directors/editors/stars/other producers in the post production process, lending my ideas on everything from music choices, to editing cuts. though, that's not true for all producers. sometimes, executive producers have very little to do with an actual production, and they may just be lending their names to a project in oreder to get it more clout, etc...
it really does depend.
i don't come by the boards too much, because i don't like to be influenced by knee-jerk, popular demand. though i respect and value criticism and ideas from the fanbase, sometimes people need to experience a show over time and reflect upon it before their true feelings evolve. it's so easy, right after watching something, to rush to a message board and hate on it. then in a week, or a month or even a year, your opinion might totally change. i know that happened for me with the movie, The Big Lebowski. hated it when i first saw it. n ow, i could never imagine not loving it.
