Episode 7 explained the angel cover up in that what the general public knew as second impact was a lie. As well it showed that nerv or seele sabotaged the jet alone project so they would be the only option for stopping the angels.

They needed to filll a half hour time spot. The first half of the angel recap episode I think was more useless. Yeah the jet alone episode wasn't good, but not every episode in any series is great....Unless you ask Adult Swim about FLCL![]()

Hey everyone, check out the new pictures from Fuji-Q Highland. There's quite a few photos and some video of the new Eva Unit 02 head they've built. They sadly forgot to add tons of blood. I call shenanigans.

Looks like Hideaki Anno is adding a film producer credit to his filmography:

That full size Mari will be stolen within a week of opening and will be enshrined in some otaku's bedroom.

It would be great to hear news about 3.00 or anything about the Gainax vs Khara dispute. If it's anything other than release info for 3.00 then it will be dodgey at best about the company affairs which is pretty much an IDK form the company. Courts and all that legal stuff tend to be left out of interviews so as not to anger the blood so to say. Still I hope that it will be released this summer.

That's sensationalist nonsense. There is no Gainax/Khara split or dispute. That's reading way too much into things. It's merely that in 2006, Hiroyuki Yamaga was set on making Gurren Lagann, and Hideaki Anno was set on making Rebuild/New Theatrical Version Evangelion. Gainax wasn't prepared to do both, and I doubt they were prepared to do Evangelion the way Anno wanted.

Anno made his own company to make these new movies. I don't think it was by any means the wrong decision. Two very awesome series got made.

There's no dispute between Gainax and Khara. Yamaga and Anno wanted to do different things. Doesn't mean that they personally had a dispute. A dispute implies a bit more. If anything, those two disagreed on what project to pursue. And being as Yamaga is the president, he probably got the final say. This was before Khara even existed. So it has nothing to do with the companies, really.
So far, all I'm seeing is Japanator saying "there's a dispute", and Carl Horn saying "there isn't a dispute". In this case, I'm going to going with the word of someone who has actually worked on Evangelion, and who actually talked with someone directly involved.

Jerry Jewell (Kaworu) - Funimation Entertainment, you rock my socks. Plain and simple. You Rock My Socks. You cast the perfect, PERFECT person as Kaworu; Jerry has the same kind of voice like Kyle Studivant, Kaworu's original V/A, but he adds his own little quirks and tweaks to the voice that makes takes it beyond awesome. No squeaky-raspy here...and speaking of...
Greg Ayres (Kensuke) - FINALLY...He finds his place in the Eva franchise. Now, don't get me wrong, Greg is one of my all time favorite anime V/A's of all time. But his portrayal of Kaworu in the Directors Cut of Evangelion was...shall we say...wrong. However, I have since forgiven this, and am very happy to hear him play Eva's resident techno-geek. Typecasting, maybe. But awesome, absolutely.
Justin Cook (Toji) - All I can say is that he played this role very well...just like all the other Toji's that came before him. Seriously, Toji has had like 4 voice actors so far, and while they're all consistent, I think it's hillarious that one of the most non-essential persons in the movie has had the most V/A's in the entire franchise.
Mike McFarland (Hyuga) - I have to give Director McFarland his props for following the unofficial Evangelion tradition of casting himself as the glasses-wearing Nerv Technician just like Matt Greenfield before him. Thankfully, or perhaps sadly, there is no trace of Black Hyuga (Keith Burgess).

Welcome back I used to be hunterjames, but you may not remember me.
I personally wasn't a fan of J. Michael Tatum's Kaji. He seemed more like a james bond knock off than the playful kaji from the series.

Well the characters did change a lot. Asuka for the most part matured and is full of less hate. Rei actually has emotion and Shinji isn't a little cry baby 24/7.

Asuka also is no longer part-German (A fact pointed out by Tiffany Grant in the commentary track) and she also no longer has a major crush on Kaji.

Hmm I didn't know about her not being part german. I really need to watch that cometary!!! Is she just full japanese now, but was raised in Europe? I knew about her not having a crush on Kaji.

Welcome back. While you were gone, we have been very busy. We have established the Revolution of Evangelion at one convention with another slated for May. We hope to have great success there.
As for my thoughts on Rebuild, well...I think Spike Spencer said it best "Shinji drops one. Not both, just the one"

I like how shinji tries to play pimp with Asuka and Rei in the last half of the movie.
