Again, they don't have the money, or even the rights right now. They don't even have uncut tapes to play. All that's there is the edited tapes that were used for the Toonami broadcast, and they legally can't play those.

Well gee, if I had known about that special One Piece PS3 I might have saved my pennies a while longer and imported it but eh... I'm happy that I only paid 200 for my PS3 on black friday.

A marathon of 4Kids One Piece on April fools would be an EPIC joke. Probably wouldn't cost much to get the rights from Toei to air those one time. They're not that clever about April fools jokes anymore though.

So you finally got a PlayStation 3 eh? I got mine two and a half years ago for my birthday. It was the 80GB that couldn't play PlayStation 2 games, and it was $400. Nice how months later, they introduced the $300 120 GB slim. Though mine looks sexier than the slim.![]()
BTW, off-topic, but Dragon Box 4 is now going for ridiculous prices. So if you sold it, you're out of luck now. Boxes 3, 5-7 are the only easy to get ones now.

True that, especially on the boards. Remember when everyone was made a fake admin on April Fool's this year?

I knew I should have ordered one the other day when I saw it for 50ish on Amazon. Well that's one of many things I regret about 2011.
I guess collecting the Dragon Boxes are a wash now. I'll just keep my Boxes 1-3 sealed and either buy the Blu-Ray release as it comes out or maybe just wait until the inevitable rerelease of the Blu-Ray discs that will at least double up the amount per set because that's FUNimation's MO and at the very least Walmart will probably get some kind of double pack in the near future like they did for Kai before Kai got a wide spread rereleases of 1-26 in one set.
Ah... who am I kidding? I don't care that much about owning DBZ on home video anymore. If I did, I never would have sold Dragon Box 4 (which included part of my favorite storyline of the series). I would like to see the whole series again at least one more time but I'm not in any hurry to rewatch the whole thing for now.

There is still hope, I heard FYE and Suncoast tend to have the hard to find titles longer, so it's either that or bust. I'm hoping they have it as I still don't have anything past the first two Dragon Boxes.

Can Adult Swim just remove some of the anime on yur station already? For instance: Inuyasha, Big O, FLCL (i like that show but i think its run its course, unless its another season coming), or Ghost in the Shell. i dont know if any of these show are giving this station more ratings, but im sure One Piece would give adult swim wayyy more ratings...

Not if it's airing after 2AM like those shows.
12:30 after Bleach or conversly at 12AM followed by Bleach would be a fine slot but then they have the midnight hour locked down for years and any other anime premiere would be stuck at 1AM. Because of that Adult Swim really doesn't have the space for 2 long-a.ss shounen at the same time.
None the less, it could very well be a hit for them and I'd like to see them give it a shot.

now this is a question out of curiousity, but can Adult Swim put Boondocks back on the weekly schedule to clear the 11:30 time slot on saturday and then put in One Piece as a replacement?

Either way, I'd like them to give it a chance as well.
Well when the issues are space to air the show that isn't already occupied and the funds to buy such a long and expensive show they're pretty legit reasons why they haven't picked up One Piece yet.
If they had both One Piece and Bleach right now that would probably be the new anime they would end up airing for the rest of the year or even longer than that because could get 2-3 shows for the price of the rights to even half the episodes available for One Piece right now and because they have the common sense not to regularly air anime premieres after 1 AM they're working with 2 slots and both would be full for years if they had both Bleach and One Piece.
Anime's not going to start airing earlier on Saturday because Family Guy and The Boondocks reurns continually beat all the anime. So anime has it's 6 hours and reasonably that should allow two shows to run premieres at a time when they have more than 1 show to premiere. It would be a disservice to any show to premiere it at 1AM. Sure some people do stay up that late but I know you don't like to stay up that late and plenty of other people don't either.
Would it be freak'n wonderful if they picked up One Piece and slapped it on at 9PM on Monday - Friday? Absolutely. But it's not going to happen because anime isn't a high priority for them and it wont beat the shows airing on the weekday block of Adult Swim.
So as much as I'd like to see One Piece back on TV, I'm don't think it's wise of them to put all their chips in on that gamble rather than more wisely spreading them accross a few shorter series for the time being. When Bleach starts slipping then they could probably run it at 1 AM and still keep most of it's usual viewers who were not already tuning out. At that point they could pick up One Piece and not be cramped for space. But for now, I think they're better off getting some shorter shows into the rotation before going after another long-a.ss shounen.
None the less I would be pleased to see One Piece air on Adult Swim because I'd like it to air on television again but I'm not opposed to a youth targeted broadcast with edits but lets not get into that for the upteenth time.

They wont give any anime 11:30 PM as long as The Boondocks does well in that slot. They have other shows airing on weekdays already and as tired as that rotation can become they do get very good ratings so they don't want to mess with that either.
The Boondocks reurns have actually be oddly successful on Saturday nights. Maybe it's due to not being as burnt out as other comedies that have come and gone from the Saturday line-up but The Boondocks reruns seem to be gaining strength on Saturday night rather than losing it and that's a bit peculiar since the show hasn't seen a new episode in quite a while. It would be unwise to mess with that but I do suspect they will eventually give one of The Boondock's slots to Black Dynamite encores and/or reruns later this year unless they actually moved the schedule up a half hour to keep the full hour of Boondocks before Black Dynamite.

_hack-SIGN_John made an interesting suggestion regarding One Piece airing on Adult Swim
http://boards.adultswim.com/t5/General-Adult-Swim-Discussion/Rati
ngs-Report-V-Bumps-Nielsen-Ratings-...If they had any balls they would get One Piece, edit it down to it's best scenes & fit it long term.
What he's suggesting is Adult Swim pick up One Piece (yes we'd all like that) but he doesn't want them to play it as is he wants them to edit it to remove the boring parts and the parts that make it blatantly obvious that it's a kid's show. Basically edit it up for adults maybe going as far as glossing over the emotional parts and focusing on showing the fights at a quicker pace.
Now I would say if Adult Swim was to air One Piece there's really no good reason to make any modifcations other than shortening the OPs and EDs to fit the time slot but what do you guys think? Would One Piece work better on Adult Swim it they trimmed the fat?

Remember what I said about ABSOLUTELY NO EDITING?
That still applies.
For me anyway...

And what if they only cut the filler episodes with no relevance to the main story plot?
Though I'm not surprised you're opposed to the idea of even cutting the "boring parts" to an anime. Afterall to you ever moment is sacred. Which is something I generally agree with. It's one thing to skip filler episodes but even cutting those in a long running shounen is still needlessly cutting material that's part of the experience of watching the show.

Cutting filler isn't allowed either.
Either air it in its entirely or don't air it at all.
IMO.
