As long as it isn't a metal pole and not longer than 4ft. you should be ok. We might be willing to budge a bit on pole length, but not on the metal.

I'm happy to announce that Ananka and I will be attending Momocon this year in mid-March at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis and just finished making reservations.

Not sure if any OAers will be going, but if so we hope to see you there.

to rainy- So... need to plan for funds for ACEN. (since i could possibly spending lots and lots of money on a concert pilgrimage this year) What's the estimate on hotel room? Me and Apple are a definite.

Well...  this really depends on who all is coming >_<  I have 2 rooms one for 3 nights one for 2.  If we end up with 4 people for 3 nights then it will be 130 each for all 3 nights.  Also, are you guys coming Thursday or Friday?  Anti has txt me asking what's going on..  I haven't txt him back cause I don't eally have an answer yet >_<  Worst case senerio it will be 3 people in a room and for 3 days it would be 175 each...  so I'm guessing somewhere between that.  I haven't heard from Mello in a while... so  have a feeling she's not going.  But I will txt her just to see. 

So, who all is planning on going to ACen??    that's planning on staying with us?  Let me know so I can give better numbers.

Also...  on a side note I think ACen is during a bad time of year for college kids so we might not have a good turn out...  hopefully better than last year though!

I'm thinking we are coming up on thursday night, hopefully. it doesn't look like i can get thursday off from work so we were thinking of leaving after i get out which wouldn't put us in chicago until maybe midnight- so it's a toss up right now. Thanks for the estimate, it helps with planning. I am hoping to see a korean group called Big Bang, they are rumored to have concerts stateside, i fear it may only be in LA though- which a plane ticket alone could cost me around 500 or more. Also Gackt is rumored to hold a concert in north america (possibly in canada) so there is also that... *sigh* i might have to pick up more hours at hellish job number 2..

Up until last year, I had no clue that there were anime conventions an hour away from me. The funny thing is that I was at a Barnes & Noble that was like a minute away from the convention center where Omnicon was being hosted last year. It was only until a week after that I found out why there were so many cosplayers and people with anime merchandise roaming about the manga section at B&E.

I think I might attend Omnicon this year...

good idea. i have to work on my face/smile while at conventions. I have the kind that says "Please direct your questions here" since random people gravitate towards me to find out where things are... or ask "What line is this for?" Psudeo can testify to this problem of mine.

General question: Has anyone received their badge for ACEN in the mail yet?

I'm starting to worry a little. They said in the newsletter that they were starting to mail them out in February by when they were bought.  I paid for it back in September. Last year I had it before Feb was over and the con wasn't till end of May, this year it's at the end of April, less than 6 weeks away and still nothing. And I haven't heard about any VAs that are going to be there, just the musical artists. Do you think I should be pushing the panic button here?

They said that they were going to be mailed in the order that the payment was received. So, basically, first paid, first mailed.

To kat: according to ACEN forums Tier 1 badges were sent out March 9th (August 15th - september 15th) and then Tier 2 badges were sent out March 10th (spetember 16th - december 15th).  I would panic by next monday if you haven't gotten yours by then.

To Kat : Got mine today. And i was in the tier 2 bracket. So I'd give it to monday like said then I'd call and start asking questions.
