I don't get it, I should have really liked this one. I understood the story, which was good. The ending was, for all intents and purposes, well thought out. The backgrounds are fantastically drawn. But, I only kind of sort of liked it and was happy to move on to the next one...
I feel terrible about not being able to say better stuff.

all of the Full Metal Panic
Highschool of the Dead
Corpse Princess (or Shikabane Hime)
and most importantly ELFEN LIED
there are zero reasons to not watch anime on netflix lol

Elfen Lied is one of the best ones I have seen, thanks for the suggestion.

My god man, I wish I hadn't been so dense weeks ago.
Corpse Princess (Shikabane Hime) is awesome.

Corpse Princess had a lot of what I like and am sad it only had 26 episodes. There were a lot of internal struggles of the characters and striving for redemption. Who the 'good' characters was a murky topic-- I like it when it is somewhat like real life where there isn't any clear good or bad most of the time and you have to figure that out for yourself as things move along. It was fantastic.

I say this with a hint of caution. The ending was not so much of an ending. I liked what I saw. Up until it stopped, the story was okay. The main character is so-so at best, but the supporting characters are really good. The story was different and the main character being written that way is integral. The story is the characters trying to hold back an oncoming disaster and the secrets the charcters may have behind them.

hey just to let you know, Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid is no longer on netflix. however they do have everything ghost in the shell related and they have something called witchblade, which i hear is really good. but yea no problem for the suggestion, and im really sad thast second raid is gone i loved it, but only because yue lin and yue fong were so bad@$$, and i was really sad at what happed to minai in Corpse Princess (shikabane hime) i did like the backstory for her that they used as a final episode, but they really could have made the serious longer, there is no reason why not and i was pissed at the way they ended it

It was different enough that I am glad I watched it. It is slooow. There are several story threads going on which is great, especially since half of the story threads aren't that good. There are a few really great base ideas driving much of the story, and heavy credit is due to make them apparent. What does life consist of? What is human existence? There is some heavy stuff in there, if you care to look for it.

School Rumble is a pile of sugar. It will rot your teeth. It felt torturous to me a lot. That is not to say there weren't good parts. But it is just so frustrating when you think about the writers just not getting on with it.
The suspension of my disbelief was horribly incomplete. So many episodes, so little story progress. 1 billion tangents.
Also, I'm not really into the anime school setting stuff, especially when it is so removed from reality.
Also, there are two seasons so far divided a little weird in Netflix. And there is a third season that has not been dubbed yet. Maybe it wraps everything up-- probably not.
But, by the last dozen or so episodes, I was finally hooked and the story seemed to get better. So, it did finally get me. But it took a long time getting there. The beginning was torture. And now I want to know what happens to the Tsukamotos and the guy. But, I can't. Because it isn't dubbed yet.
--What is also terrible is that I have been watching the more or less PG rated Fruits Basket on and off at the same time (my kid really digs the music so I started watching it with him every once in a while), it is also a school anime.--

I rented the dvds without realizing that the only ones Netflix seems to have are sub-only. It never occurred to me to check, since the dub aired well before any of the dvds were released. Why in the hell is there a sub-only version at all? oO And why is that the version Netflix has?

Kenichi Mightiest Disciple
Fruits Basket is slow. I liked that aspect. It was a different type of story-- there really was no bad guy. Just a range of people where some were nicer than others. And some were saccharine sweet, which takes away from it for me. There is a ton of dialogue. School kids doing what they do in an exaggerated way. Supernatural curse which is interesting and makes you wonder as each new character is introduced. If you are a girl, you may like this one more.
Kenichi Mightiest Disciple is another school based interaction situation but takes a hard left into martial arts training and there is a ton on mildly entertaining but over the top battles. --Fan service. But, other than the two most frequently seen female characters being scantily clad-- the writers even write in 'dairy cow' references. But, it does focus mostly on 'Kenichi' and it doesn't interfere with the story line so I'll give it a pass. Not terrible, but not five stars either.
As a side note, I saw an episode of Naoki Urasawa's Monster on my own time and am deeply depressed that it was subbed because it looked awesome.

Sorry man, this thread is streaming and the streaming title is dubbed.
I did not know that the disks you requested were subbed. I just had to abandon watching a title that looked awesome because it is subbed. That and the version of Bleach they stream is subbed...
