There are several anime things that the average American thinks came from America.

Well, I guess that's something.

At least Anime News Network told me what the Super Bowl is.

Voltron creators - It took 27 years but we finally made it!!! A cameo in one ad and Voltron doing a dance in another one! Dreams are being made in front of us people!  *cracks bottle of champagne and throws confetti*

Yeah I bet they are excited.

Wasn't there going to be some sort of Voltron movie in teh somewhat near future? I remember seeing a movie poster teaser being shown on the webs.

Ah, found it. http://www.toplessrobot.com/2010/09/michael_bay_is_going_to_ruin_

It is not sad in any way.

No offense to the mighty Voltron, but since when has Voltron been an icon of anime?  I mean honestly, if it wasn't for World Events making major changes to the original source material Golions, there would have never been a Voltron.

Voltron fits more with shows like Transformers that have a link to Japan, but have very american hand prints all over them.

Still was awesome to see Voltron during the Superbowl.  I still enjoy throwing in one of the dvds from time to time to laugh at how silly is all seems now compared to how awesome I thought it was as a kid.

Dam straight. Voltron is like the Furious Five of anime.

What I meant was that it's sad people think Voltron is uniquely american. As many have pointed out, it was edited enough from the source to basically be its own show, but it still originally came from Japan.

I'm sorry for any ambiguity on my part
