(A better looking version can be found here by a user on another forum.)
I've posted this thing on many forums now and now it's time to post it here.
Heres a list of places you can watch anime online legally and download legally. Fansubs are illegal and can hurt the anime industry, this is 100% true. The age of legal anime streaming has come, almost all these services are avaliable in North America only at the moment. There is NO excuse why you should be watching fansubs for many series that are now legally streaming. You obviously will get commercials when watching legally so the companies can make a profit and keep supplying you with the entertainment you enjoy.
To Watch on the Internet legally (No fansub sites included):
www.joost.com go to shows, then animation, then anime (Lost all anime streaming rights March 25, 2010)
www.hulu.com go to channels, then animation and cartoons, then anime (some are listed in the all section of animation and cartoons only)
www.veoh.com go to TV Shows, then anime
www.youtube.com go to shows, then animation and cartoons
www.adultswim.com then go to video, then action *As if you guys didn't figure that out.
www.animenewsnetwork.com then go to video, then anime
http://www.crunchyroll.com/ then go to video, then anime [EDIT: I fixed a typo where I put an H after the first C]
www.cartoonnetwork.com then go to video (Only Naruto, Bakugan Battle Brawlers, Bakugan Battle Brawlers New Vestroia, and Pokemon DP Galactic Battles are anime)
www.funimation.com then go to watch videos
(Some of the Official American Websites allow you to watch/ download the anime legally and possibly legally read the manga)
www.naruto.viz.com then click on the looking for Naruto (episodes 215-220 only)
www.4kidstv.com then go to shows (These are anime: Dinosaur King, Sonic X, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Kirby: Right Back at Ya!, Magical DoReMi)
www.theanimenetwork.com then go to watch anime now!
www.bandai-ent.com then go to online videos (Used to have video service)
www.shodojo.com (Coming in 2011 from FUNimation Entertainment)-Apparently the new FUNimation site was this all along. www.shonensunday.com then click on Sunday anime

To Read Manga Online Legally:
www.viz.com then go to downloads, then online manga
www.shonenjump.viz.com then go to online manga, or select a series under the manga series section, then click on one, then go to online manga for a preview of it
www.shojobeat.com then go to downloads
www.tokyopop.com-Tokyopop is no more. www.delreymanga.com-Kodansha USA took over them. www.cmxmanga.com-CMX manga is no more.
[Edit 3] When you go to therumicworld.com, since it has now merged with shonensunday.com, it takes you to the Rin-Ne page for the manga Rin-Ne by Rumiko Takahashi. Also when you click on an episode at naruto.viz.com, it now takes you to vizanime.com to watch it. Also episodes 215-220 of Naruto are no longer avaliable to watch at the original Naruto website. You can still see them at vizanime.com, hulu.com, and crunchyroll.com.
[Edit 4] The licensor Media Blasters has now started anime streaming legally on it's website, www.media-blasters.com.
[Edit 5]Now when you go to www.shonensunday.com you will see the link to www.vizanime.com instead of Shonen Sunday anime. Also here's the link to a list similiar to mine from www.crunchyroll.com. http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-535224/legal
Also if you want [adult swim]'s anime schedule now refer to here. http://boardsus.playstation.com/t5/Anime-Discussio
[Edit 5]Added more stuff, and got rid of old. This is a long overdue edit. last edited on 09-12-2010 05:26 PM It's been nearly a year since this was edited. Also added a Fandom Post version of that Mania thread posted in this thread. It looks better, and doesn't have as much weird info like I have after the list of sites.
[Edit 6]Added VIZManga.
[Edit 7]Added JManga.
Since this is the [adult swim] boards, I don't need to say where you need to look for the schedule.

It's free for us,it's legal, and the original companies get payed for their work .
Thanks OP .

You're welcome, it should be floated in my opinion. If you want you can bookmark this or float it to the top yourself. Yeah we get to legally watch our anime on these sites and support the companies. Anime streaming has exploded, FUNimation Entertainment is streaming almost all their series, including Fullmetal Alchemist (The original. In both subbed and dubbed formats). Though @Martinman, thanks for that also. I made something similiar to that where I listed what anime was streaming on X site but not including what episodes so kudos for you for mentioning that.

No, no I don't since it's just a list of sites, and like the only new one that has appeared since I last updated this was Viki. You're better off clicking the link in the OP that takes you to this.
