I'll be up for it, like every year.

As for being early, remember pitchers and catchers will start reporting for spring training in a bout a month or so.

I think y'all should dump Freese and get some 30+ veteran guy. You don't seem to have enough of them.

My bad, I forgot Cubs fans stop following baseball after May.

That's what they always say. Who knows, maybe Theo can right the ship. He just needs to keep throwing dead weight overboard. If he can get rid of Alfonso, I'll consider him one of the best GM's Chicago's ever had.

You say dead weight, but we got rid of two of our best pitchers and got practically nothing in return (referring to Marshall and Cashner)

So does this require a large knowledge of baseball and a major time commitment, or could I go into it as a total noob for the lol's and not waste a lot of time I don't have?

It depends. If you want to micromanage your team then it would take a lot of time. But if you just pick players that you know are going to play near every day then it wouldn't be all that much. Knowing the basic stats of baseball would be useful as well since those stats are what determines who wins a match or not.

I haven't played legit baseball outside of PE class in about 10 years, so I remember nothing.  How much more complex is it than just seeing how many runs each player on your team gets?

Pitcher Wins, Pitcher Losses, Earned Run Average, Strikeouts, Walks/Hits per Inning Pitched, Saves, Batting Average, Runs, Runs Batted In, Home Runs, OPS (On Base Percentage + Slugging Percentage), Fielding Percentage plus 1 or 2 more that I missed most likely.

None of them are all that hard to understand, and I imagine if you just auto-draft then you don't even need to worry at all.

This isn't directed at anyone, but after the fail that was last year...Seriously if you're gonna sign up A). Show up to the draft. Srsly. B). Actually be somewhat committed to seeing it through and managing your team on a daily/weekly basis.

They should have made a baseball card of that bird that got hit by a pitch back in the late 90's/early 00's.  My friends dad happened to be watching that game while I was at their house and I saw it; it was epic.
