One Piece Japanese Release Discussion

Welcome to the sequel to One Piece Manga Discussion (Japanese Release)!  After making that thread about 3 and a half years ago, it's finally about to get locked due to size. Since the One Piece anime threads seemed to have died out, I decided to make this new thread to be a general discussion about One Piece in it's Japanese form.

Latest manga chapter: 554 - Admiral Akainu

Latest anime episode: 413 - Luffy's Hard Trial! The Battle of the Snake Sisters Haki!!

Discuss!

Discuss I shall...

I had a hard time telling what the hell was going on action-wise in the latest chapter (I'll stick with lots o sh*t getting blowed up). This is one of the major downsides of manga; it'll be better when it's finally animated for the TV.

Oh you :smileytongue:

There's already a discussion for the anime, just the whole FUNi thing kind of.... you know.

But anyways, manga spoilers, so stay clear >.>

Kyogre- Aokiji

Groudon- Akainu

???????- Kizaru

There must be a legendary 'light' pokemon >.> I guess Rayquaza.. since Kizaru can kind of travel through the air and so can Rayquaza.

And it'll be awesome when the it's animooted. The fighting is happening so quickly, it needs to anime to drag it out and stuff.

Kizaru vs. Marco is going to be one helluva fight when animated. You really can't go wrong with that.

AND THE SHCHIBUKAI ARE IN ACTION NEXT WEEK. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

That one is more promising, in that Nami's bound to come out of that with somthing to add to her arsenal.

I'm really more curious about Brook and Zoro.

We've got Robin, Zoro, and Brook left, and these tend to be two chapters a piece, so we've got 6 chapters left minimum.  A lot can happen in that time...

Not really in the mood to waste my time on something that won't be seen once this thread goes beyond page one.
The action wasa kind of confusing in the last chapter, but the general concept I got is that these people are crazy powerful and are able to withstand crazy powerful attacks.

Whats irritating me right now, is the fact that way too many of these guys are fruit users.

**looks at Joss*  YOU WOULDN'T BE SO TOUGH, WITHOUT YOUR DIAMOND DIAMOND FRUIT POWER!!!:smileymad:

A lot of these people wouldn't be so tough without their fruit powers, but also remember that these people are fighting on ships and a pretty small island. If they fall in the water, they're done.

Didn't Crocodile say it some time ago?  That only a fool would be content in having the power itself, you must train yourself in order to reap the fruit's (and by extension, your own) maximum potential.

Anyone else think it's weird that there are so many firebased devil fruit? (Ace- fire, the new wb guy-phoenix, Akainu- lava). Kind of dissapointed in Akainu's power, was hoping blood fruit especially since I always thought he would be the strongest (still might be) yet Kizaru still seems stronger. The guy is light, it doesn't have a natuaral weakness, except darkness but that cancels out all DFs. Lava can be cooled, so we already know its weakness. Still awesome chapter.

I was kind of disappointed with all the Fire-like fruits at first, but I think Marco having a Mythical Beast Zoan makes up for the fact that part of his ability includes fire, and we haven't seen the extent of Akainu's ability for me to start disliking it much.
As for Kizaru, no idea what could stop him.  Perhaps some sort of mirror man that reflects all of his attacks?  All I know is that he can spam his B laser from a distance and Blackbeard would be forced to absorb every hit.  Unless his darkness can negate light before it hits him.

Yup.

In Grand Battle, Crocodile told Buggy, that a Devil Fruit is only as powerful as the man who uses it.

I bet Buggy can do much more with the chop chop fruit, but he's too busy being Comic relief
